Want to try big game mono
Heres my question about floro . It is not elastic like mono and does not snap back . Does that mean once it is stretched , a person is now fishing with damaged line ?

A rare insight into crankbait fishing
I always tie to the o-ring that comes on the bait .

What's your favorite cold water flat sided CB
Maybe thats why someone gave it away . I've never used one .

crawdads and the cold?
Once I was watching the water flow through a culvert pipe . It was the only area not frozen . I got down close to look at things and there were several crawdads huddled together motionless . What struck me was their color , purple .

When to use mono for LMB fishing???
I like mono for everything especially bottom bouncing lures because it will slacken up a bit when it hits bottom . I know exactly when it touches down plus I'm so in-tuned with it that if it slackens a little too much or not enough then there may be a fish on it .

Spinnerbait and using trailers
I dont use trailers on spinnerbaits and rarely use a trailer hook with them .

Latest Catch Pics Thread
Look at those cypress trees . I only fished them once in Florida . It was different and fun .

Tournament Strats?
After my recent disastrous trip to Table rock Lake I would look for some stained water so I could fish shallow and cover water .?

Is there bass?
I pick out about four baits that will effectively fish the area or cover I am facing . A Texas rig or jig is always among them . Then I rotate through those baits . Those lures are a lot different fishing deep clear water than shallow stained water .

Why is bass fishing so addicting?
I was addicted to bass fishing before I ever caught a bass . When I was little I would rather go look at the bass lures than the toy department .

Isolated cover vs structure
I consider rip rap as cover . Also I would call the blocks that sink brush piles as cover . I consider structure as bottom topography only .

Isolated cover vs structure
My home lake Mark Twain is a flood control reservoir . The water fluctuates often and drastically. When it goes high it is also muddy . Isolated structure such as humps in the middle with deep water all around do not hold bass at all . If there is a saddle or point leading to it then it will be productive at times .

Old School Wakebaits
On the Long A I use the silver flash almost 100 per cent of the time . I have a bunch of them with the propeller . They were called prop A's . They can be waked easier than the regular ones but they lose a little of the action doing so .

You never see stuff like that unless you get out . Thats amazing .

Cabelas lifetime warranty cancelled!
I bought a metal detector that had a lifetime warranty and had to send it in twice for repair. Now it appears that company is out of business . Maybe if they would have given a" best in the industry" five year warranty they may not have fallen on such a financial hardship .

Old School Wakebaits
They can be reeled in slow and will act like a wake bait .

Old School Wakebaits
I use the Long A a lot during the post spawn period . Sometimes I'll wake it , twitch it , let it sit . I have an old Ripplin Red Fin in my top water box that I have never used . This sounds strange but I have an old Rebel popper thats bigger than a Pop R that I reel in slow and it will wake and wiggle . I caught my PB spotted bass by waking it . For some real old school wake baits , pick up a Bass Oreno and Heddon Lucky 13 .

Approaching Shallow Cover
My answer is based on something like a fallen tree with lots of branches . Where are the big bass positioned ? Nobody knows . So I'm going to start outside and work my way in . Theres a good chance that I'll hit it with more than one type of lure , for instance a spinnerbait and a Texas rig .

Marker Buoys / GPS / Spotlock
In marking a ledge or channel buoys work well . Having them fifty yards or so apart one can go back and forth at his leisure . Only down fall is other boats stopping to fish your buoy's .
-
Marker Buoys / GPS / Spotlock
I still use The yellow Manns buoys that has a fish shaped weight .

How do I find fish in a new creek?
The creeks I have fished did not hold big bass . So I would just fish after small fish like crappie and bluegill. If there are bass there , you should catch them also . So all the small lures listed above are good along with crappie jigs .

Marker Buoys / GPS / Spotlock
Spotlock would be nice . After retying a lure , getting a backlash out , unhooking a deeply hooked fish ... I sometimes drift far away from the buoy .
