Great story . In 1971 a first cousin of mine got pregnant at the age of 14 . Her parents took her to a different state where she gave birth to a boy and was immediately put up for adoption . Now a grown man he took a DNA test and located a relative out west who then introduced him to me because I am the un-official family historian . I knew who his mother was but didnt know how to handle it . I contacted her sister and she took over from there .He now calls me uncle and plans on visiting and go bass fishing . Its amazing what science has done in my life-time .

No joke . Crappie lures work great in cold water . A yellow marabou crappie jig is one of my favorites .

Are you fishing clear water ? ,because around here 55 degree stained water is prime time to cover water along the banks with spinnerbaits and crankbaits .

I was fishing from bank in backwaters off the Mississippi that is protected by a levee. I have caught many big bass here but this one haunts me because it appeared to be the biggest of the bunch, maybe an 8 to 9 lb bass . There was a log laying flat about thirty foot out . I cast a jig and pork frog on the other side of it . This was many years ago and the equipment we used was not as good as todays . I had a 5,6" lightning rod with an Abu 4600C spooled with 14 lb Stren . I bounced the jig on the other side of the log and sensed a heavy feeling . I reared back hard and felt a heavy fish . There was only one way to land it and that was to turn the girl upward and get her to jump . I put the pressure on and the fish jumped just as planned , at that moment I pulled it over the log and got a good look at her then the lure came out . That was a heart breaker .

I use a flexible wire , then pull it through with pliers . What do you lube it with ?

I made a few TexasJigs , slither jigs whatever from a spinnerbait mold .

Thats a healthy looking bass .Shes been working out .

I like the Rapala Crankin Rap too and have several of them in every size . They are a Storm design and i have not had a problem with any of them .

This is just an experiment , an attempt to resize a photo to fit this forum without using a third party . Bomber Model A and a cold water bass caught a long time ago . Super Bowl XXIII hat . LOL and that is a Shacket underneath that Hoodie . Man I was skinny .

I use to opt for a jig because that is what they use to preach . But heck anymore I might throw a texas rig , jig and grub , spinnerbait , crankbait ... whatever I choose it is fished s l o w . When I think back of all the November and February bass that I have caught , more than half were on a crankbait .Bomber Model A and Arbogast Mud Bug .

I'm only looking at 20 to 25 lbs . Been in a big bass slump for two years now . I'm catching some long ones but skinny . The lake needs to be thinned out but the conservation dept is stubbornly keeping a slot limit that is not working . Its been in place since the 1970's .

I can do that exercise on a recliner .

I'm probably done . Winterizing the boat next week . I can still fish small a conservation lake as long as I get a warm day with little wind .

90 foot sounds like a good cast with a Senko . I've never measured how far I can cast . There are plenty of times where I make as long as cast as I can . Fishing deep diving crankbaits , fishing on flats and parallel casting banks I often Hail Mary the bait .

A fluke is a strange looking salt water fish , thats a largemouth bass . ?

I've had to take a seat this year because of back pain . I still stand when its a must like pitching or casting at under water targets . I crushed a heel 40 years ago and have significant arthritis in that foot and ankle . I started wearing an orthotic brace this past year . It had gotten so bad that once I got off my feet after fishing I would have an extremely painful time trying to walk . The brace has worked wonders . I have arthritis in my right wrist and its starting to effect me . I have battled tendonitis on and off for years . I'm going to fish until I can no longer drive , thats a fact .

I've had a few in my life . I have one now with a hoodie and side pockets .

I've had the same problem on a different computer .

Especially in Alabama . I caught over 100 fish the past week and a half , shallow on spinnerbaits in northern Missouri
