I have too many lures and the UPS guy brought some more . I need to remove the ones I dont use and get some of these shiny new baits in the game .

Thats why I picked him in the classic . He owes BassNJake two ounces .

I reluctantly got in last year thinking it silly , then enjoyed the heck out of it .The live broadcast is great , especially if one of my anglers is in it . I think Bass could do better with the announcers . They need a good play by play man and less color commentators .

I hardly fish the carolina rig anymore but at one time used it a lot . Its so hard to detect strikes that its become a forgotten technique for me . Like others I use it mainly as a deep water search bait , like on a main lake flat . I use a 3/4 ounce egg sinker and about a two foot leader . About any soft plastic can be used . I have mostly replaced it with deep diving crankbaits.

The small lake I fish a lot use to be full of small bass and a good number of lunkers . Very few bass two to four lbs . It has a slot limit and I think people finally started taking the little bass out , I always have . This past year very few bass under the slot and a good population over but no big ones for me this past year . Its a fun lake to fish either way .

Immediate post spawn , they like to set up shallow on points , ledges...leading to deep water and they will just murder top waters . Its a narrow window .

A lot of the time either one can be chosen and its just whatever floats my boat at the time . I like spinnerbaits better in brushpiles , laydowns , beaver houses and over vegetation . The vegetation in local lakes , a crankbait cannot be ripped free .You get those trebles in it and come back with a big glob . Stumps , standing timber , rip rap and deep structure i usually have on a crank but spinnerbaits can also be used .

Bomber Long a Minnow is at its best post spawn . Biggest limit I ever caught , I patterned large bass , shallow on points with that lure, in silver flash color .

Living rubber is what I have always used and caught fish on . Cold muddy water I use to use orange pork frogs and a black living rubber jig in 3/8th ounce .

I have the beer part down but not to good at sorcery .

Shallow , spring , dirty water I use bright chartreuse skirts with a lot of thump . As soon as the bass get conditioned to them , in a week or two , I switch to smaller ones with willow leafs and duller colors . Summertime clear water deep , I use a heavier bait with a small blade/blades in shad color . Shallow and clear A lighter weight , willow leaf shad or bluegill color . Fall I just play it by ear . Brand , I dont give a hoot . Half the time they are homemade lures . Night time I have been fishing the Strike King Midnight special exclusively . I need to add a chartreuse skirt to one and fish it this spring .

Really , I dont pay . Lets see if this works . Maybe I'm grandfathered in .

You choose a new team for every tourney . The buckets will be updated for each event , so you couldnt keep the same team if you wanted .

I remember a thread about what we were good at and some guy got upset and left the forum . I guess he didnt see that thread that showed our weaknesses . LOL

It kills me that Takahiro caught a bass that had a crankbait in its mouth that he lost on a snag the day before . How crazy is that ?

I did improve on depth finder comprehension . Caught some 20 foot plus deep bass on crankbaits . Thats the deepest I ever caught bass on diving plugs . I doubt if I get much better . I turned 60 this year and dont get to spend as much time fishing that I need to .
