  1. You been getting your corn from a jar ? Just kidding ghostshad ,your from tennessee "Rocky Top" and its an unusual question .
  2. First we are in different areas . I went to mark Twain lake yesterday and found the water pretty murky for fall , just a few inches of visibility and surface temp in the low 60's . I went to the back of a creek and found the water clearer and fished for a couple of hours . There were a lot of shad up there and I got skunked . Bass dont always go by the play book . I went out on the main lake and muddier water and started fishing the bluffs . I cast a crankbait in a cut and caught a bass . Caught three more in that cut so thats what I concentrated on for the final few hours. Ended up catching about twenty bass with five keepers on a shallow diving Rapala Crankin Rap , shad pattern . There is undoubtedly bass in that creek I fished but they just were not cooperating . I came close to being skunked but made that one lucky cast with the correct lure that steered me in the right direction .
  3. A lot of bowling wrist supports have a built in piece of metal for a splint . Thy are well made and inexpensive . II wore them for years bowling ,
  4. I've passed two and have two more . They suck is an understatement . I missed the state bowling tournament three consecutive years not to mention months and months of fishing time . The culprits , a detached bicep , gout and prostate cancer .
  5. To me . clear water is two foot of visibility . If a bass is staring down my offering I am probably not aware of it .
  6. I found that the longer one fish the luckier one gets . I dont go unless I can put in a good day of 8 hours or longer , except this time of year because the days are short .
  7. How ? does it make the spool lighter ?
  8. Buy some bluegill colored skirts . I got theses at Cabelas , on a hand poured bait . .

I can vaguely remember my first fish A sunfish caught on cane pole , bobber and worm . I bet I was three or four . I can remember it because of the bright colors and the name "sun"fish . I dont remember my first bass or first caught on an artificial . Its a pretty good bet that it was caught on a doll fly .
  10. Im speculating that you are pretty new to bass fishing . The biggest mistake i see new bass anglers make , is they throw out and reel in and hope to get lucky . When i'm fishing from shore I parallel cast the bank and hit all cover I can see . When casting out in the open I typically use sinking lures that will follow the contour back up . The bait can be paused periodically to stay in contact with the bottom. That way the water can be quickly searched and still stay in contact with the bottom . I would likely go with inexpensive lures . Beetle Spins , pre rigged swimbaits , jig and curl tailed grub... in case of snags . If a snag happens then cover was found .
  11. Fall is unpredictable up here and I have seen days when bass are busting shad on top late in the year . I posted this before . I got on a good buzzbait bite one time during a heavy snow but that would be a rare occasion .
  12. I use a Rapala Fat Rap the most at that depth .
  13. Its been a year. Did anyone try pink Traps ?
  14. I have some , never used them .
  15. No , it was just a road trip .. Me and a friend went and both purchased one . So we saved forty dollars between the two of us . . LOL .
  16. I thought i was buying a good set from Bass pro and still have trouble . They must not be a good set . Those Texas Tackle ones look like they would work good . Are they small enough for all split rigs ?
  17. I bought a Minn Kota trolling motor from Grandpa Pidgeons . Drove a hundred miles to and from to save twenty dollars .
  18. In the fall around here , it doesnt take bass long to move from the points to the back of creeks and vice vesa . Here today and gone tomorrow .
  19. I'm interested . What did Ish tell you ?
  20. It just happens this time of year . They shut down abruptly . My last day fishing last year , I had a school located at fifteen foot and was catching bass on most cast then suddenly nothing as the sun started nearing the horizon ..
  21. I have a few Warts that dont get much playing time . One of these days I'm going to sell them if I can get top dollar prices . I have patience .
  22. I'll pick up gear on clearance and have found a lot of gems that way . I dont buy much new stuff because I have enough . It has to be something that I'm out of or fills a niche . For instance I've been a faithful Rattle Trap user .This year I have become a Red Eyed Shad convert and have bought a dozen or so .For my style of fishing , the Red Eye Shad has taken over that bottom bouncing niche and I have been stocking up .
  23. Is Real Craw still available?
  24. Location and latitude is so varied that you cant get absolute answers . I expect a good bite all the way through November unless it gets unseasonably cold and I will be using whatever lures that work well at the location I find bass .It might be a deep diving crankbait , lipless crank , worm , jig , spinnerbait even a top water if the bass are on a late season feeding spree .Around here I consider December winter and my fishing usually stops by then .
  25. Are you fishing from a boat or bank ? How big is the water you are trying to get bites. The bass are biting like theres no tomorrow at a 200 acre lake I go to . But first they must be located, which is one of the reasons I love fishing small waters .
