  1. 8 to 12 foot , the Norman Deep Little N has been around for decades because they catch fish .
  2. Haha . My brother used my needle nose pliers to get a hook out of the fish , then tossed them in the lake . I forgot about that until your story .
  3. I have three of the 1310 mg's . They are old but still work great .
  4. A couple of weeks back I was still catching them on the points with 6 inch jelly worms . The water temp was in the mid 60's .
  5. Rocket Shad , I like to let it sink to the bottom , then simply , slowly reel it in .
  6. I dont throw them often and the water around here is always stained , usually around a foot of visibility 3 foot would be considered clear .I've had good luck on x-raps on days when bass are hitting shallow cranks with their mouths closed . jerk , jerk , jerk pause is the cadence I usually employ .
  7. I spend a lot more time walking around Cabelas than Bass Pro , even though I dont buy much from either .
  8. I didnt mean that you thought you were better . No one is better . He'd smoke us in AOY . But if amateurs didnt have a chance against pros then there would be no new pros . All pros were once amateurs . I bested a pro angler " one" tournament. He has since qualified for several classics . After the weigh in he sought me out and quizzed me . I thought that was cool .
  9. Murph13 , KVD is probably better than you at every aspect of the game but if you can locate and catch fish then there are days you will smoke him . Some people just dont have that confidence . Theres a multitude of amateur anglers with great instincts and mind set . On any given day they can catch a big limit , at least they believe they can .
  10. You can put a lot of bags of worms in one of those cloth grocery sacks that cost like two dollars .
  11. Riprap is a good place to fish , if you have good balance and go slow. That stuff can be treacherous .
  12. If you think you can then you stand a chance . Its not like playing LeBron James one on one in basketball where his athleticism wold overwhelm you. If one can read a map and electronics locate and catch a good stringer then one would stand a reasonable chance at beating the best in the world .
  13. I have a canoe, a small plastic two man boat and a 22 foot Lowe deck boat .I have access to several canoes and kayaks . At a local lake with a good bass population . no boats are allowed except for 14 foot jon's supplied by the conservation dept. Ive owned three bass boats in the past . My wife wanted a pontoon so we compromised and bought the deck boat ..It has the same hull as the 22 foot inland boats , so it fishes quite well . 24 volt trolling motor , depth finders and livewell . Its fun to take out but if I really want to have a great day fishing , I'll leave it at home and fish waters where it wont go . Bass are found everywhere. Fishing for unpressured bass is a lot of fun. I do still enjoy the challenge of finding and catching bass on the heavily fished reservoir . but the older I get the more I want to be away from the noise and crowds .
  14. A good time and way to learn jerk baits is to try them when bass are just slapping at crankbaits .
  15. Same here . just went to Bass Pro a few days ago , spent 4 dollars on a clearance crankbait .
  16. I had to google Larysa Switlyk . Id get in that line . I wouldnt wait in the other lines , period .
  17. I have caught many in lakes and rivers . Crankbaits are by far the most effective lures I've used . If you can find an area with faster current , that will be a good place to catch channels . Ive had luck just holding a shallow diving , rattling crankbait still for several minutes and let the current work it .

When hitting shad like that a lot of lures work. The Pop R was a wise choice. When they stop hitting they are still there somewhere. Try finding the nearest cover or structure and fish tight to it .
  20. Theres a good chance you can get a BPS Pro Qualifier combo for 100 dollars around christmas time . Id get a 6.6 foot or 7 foot rod , med or med hvy . . As far as lures go , they all work . I'd go for inexpensive but proven lures like Bombers or Bill Normans . Get a couple of shallow , medium diver and deep diver like a Fat Free Shad or DD 22 . Soft plastics , spinnerbaits , top waters... use the same strategy. Inexpensive but proven over time .
  21. I'd like to take him on at a new lake neither of us has fished before . I wouldnt wager on myself but wouldnt be surprised if I beat him either .
  22. I couldnt beat mike Tyson in a fight but fishing against the KVD, I'd have a chance .
  23. One year I tore the fish up on those little Cordell CC jigging spoons with the feathered treble hook . I thought I was really onto something . Lots of different species lots of different spots . I even took a couple of kids out and they tore them up too . I dont think I caught a fish on one since .
  24. I like to use either Parasite weights or clips when T-rigging tubes . Here is one rigged with the weight .
  25. I went fishing earlier this year and forgot my soft platics bag . Its one of those cloth grocery sacks that I throw packs of worms , craws .... into Searching through my gear I found a bag of black FatzGizits , that I then t-rigged . Had a good day casting them into laydowns . i dont use tubes enough but when I do they work well .
