  1. I can see the scales but I cant read them .
  2. I have never considered crawfish eating the dead shad .
  3. What about silicone ? Does that count ?
  4. Over 100 dollars. The boat I use the most though 0.00 .
  5. The picture is of a bass trying to get out of the world records way .
  6. Dont feel too bad.I remember a tournament when I was in the back and the guy in the front was culling a ten fish limit two days in a row and I had 1 fish .All he was doing was chucking spinnerbaits. . Charteuse with chartreuse blades. I didnt have one .
  7. A close friend of mine caught a huge bass , double digit , out of private water that I dont have access too. Several lbs bigger than anything I am likely to ever catch . I jokingly told him it didnt count because I couldnt fish it .He got quite upset . I had to back pedal , settle him down and tell him of course it counts . I think hes still mad at me . LOL.
  8. Storms can form fast , Ive been caught in a few violent storms while fishing. One time it was a beautiful calm sunny day. I could hear a low roar. I trolled to the middle of the cove to take a look. There was a big wall cloud heading my way. I raced back to the ramp but the storm overtook me. There was a tornado in that storm but I didnt see it. It touched down a few miles away .
  9. I like lures that are small , heavy will cast a like bullets . One that hasnt been mentioned is the Strike King Rocket Shad .
  10. I use to do it. Bluegills will do well if they are by themselves. They will kill everything else. I had two baby sturgeon in the tank and the gills sucked their eyeball out. Drum do real well in an aquarium and will eat regular fish food . Crawdads do good too but they will stalk and kill other fishes except the bluegills , who will wait until the crawdad molts and kill it. Crawdads will also climb out if given the opportunity .Only one crawdad can be in the tank because they will eat each other .Every single time you introduce fish you will also introduce parasites and have to treat the tank . Channel cats and bullheads do well. Crappie will not adapt to aquarium life at all. Bass will but you have to feed them minnows . Its difficult to have a community. I ended up with an aquarium full of minnows . I had top minnows , shiners and other native spaces. I couldnt keep darters because they required live food . I used a seine and collected minnows out of clear spring fed creeks .
  11. Nobody is doubting Bill Dances accomplishments. Some of us just dont like his TV show . That is all .
  12. It would be hard to fish deep without an electronic aid. Seagulls are a good clue as to where fish are , all kinds of game fish , bass included .They gulls know where the feeding opportunity will arise , their lives depend on it , and bass are often close by. Even when they are not actively feeding , they are waiting patiently while a few scouts are in the air watching for food .
  13. It is illegal in every tournament I participated in . I like to troll crankbaits too. One rod , make a long cast , let out a little bit more line and simply follow the contours. I catch as many channel cats with this presentation as I do bass . A lure retriever is almost mandatory . Dont you hate it when you get tangled in some 50 lb test fishing line . LOL
  14. I am the only person i know who had good luck with the flying lure. It glided backwards, it really did just like on the commercial. Now I didnt catch a lot of bass with them but caught a lot of panfish . Experienced anglers thought them a joke . Inexperienced anglers did not have the skills to work them correctly .
  15. This Done be intimidated by the Texas rig . Learn it. You dont need expensive baits either. The widely available Zoom lizard is a good bait for beginners . You can look at the smooth shiny finish of the Zoom Lizard and if a bass bit it it will leave scrape marks that are easily visible .
  16. I would rather watch a show with the host out fishing public lakes than Bill Dance fishing his private pond. They dont have to catch big bass for thirty minutes , heck I woulnt even mind watching one get skunked . As long as they are teaching something .
  17. Or another one is pulling the lure in with your hands because you had to cut the backlash out .
  18. Bass do talk. I read all the time on here " Let the Bass tell you ... "
  19. The old Hales Craw worm . That thing was so hard I could not get a hook set with it .
  20. Ive been there a few times . Its been about ten years since my last visit and I was crappie fishing then .
  21. I wouldnt spend a lot of money on something that is not used very much .Ask yourself how often are you going to be fishing for big flatheads in heavy cover ? Ive never had any trouble catching big fish up to 60 lbs with a 7.5 foot flipping rod .
  22. Which lakes you been fishing ? I've been having some good days at and nights at Hunnewell .
  23. I use Mustad and VMC round bend trebels. They are inexpensive .
  24. I start out with a trailer hook and if the bass are hitting it solidly I will change baits to one without . As far as plastic trailers I cant recall ever using one .
