  1. Might try reeling something extremely fast over the box. Maybe if he doesnt get a chance to see it he will hit it out of reflex .
  2. I cant effectively pitch unless I'm standing and preferably from a raised platform .
  3. I use lots of different plastic trailers and don't thread them on. I even bite lizards in half and just push the hook through .
  4. Thin out the skirt .
  5. Yeah , they can get you good. I think little ones are the worse because they flop around so much. Iv'e had to laydown in the boat before because a catfish sting made me all clammy and sweaty .
  6. I love spinnerbaits but everyone throws them and the biite just hasnt been there for me . I just rigged a couple of finesse spinners up and may use them some cloudy day soon .
  7. You win Bluebasser . Forced me dig out the Sammy .
  8. Good job on making the lure do what you want it to do . Next you will have a small box full of terminal tackle and making changes often .

  12. If I encounter a mountain lion or a bear I will probably get some pictures before it kills me .
  13. Paul is one of my favorites . When he lands that big fish he disengages the reel when it surges.
  14. Throwing marker buoys out and using Texas rigs . Doing a lot of motoring and studying the depthfinder. I enjoy doing that .
  15. Heres some of mine . The two on the left are homemade. A Rebel Deep Wee R and a Pico Perch ..
  16. I bought two Vivifs when I was a teen in the late 60's out of a magazine. They had a swimming tail.
  17. This photo of a Mississippi river backwater bass trying to throw the bait always reminded me of the Harry and Charlie stories in bassmaster .
  18. I have pulled the pincers off Riverside Big Claws and left legs and antenna . Those were some big pincers , thought they might scare the fish . LOL
  19. I'm sure boilies will work just fine. I use whole kernel corn , wheaties balls , Strawberry jello bait , mullberries when ripe like now ... There is one commercial anise flavored bait that works well and I have a recipe handed down from an old carp fisherman . I'll have to try to find it . If I do I will post it . For now I will try to do this from memory .It may not be correct . If I find the orignal recipe I will share it . It is very good . 1 cup corn meal 1 cup oats 1 cup flour 1 tbs salt 1 tbs sugar and some water to make it doughy , dont remember how much water mix together and make into patties , like hamburger patties . Boil each pattie in rapidly boiling water for three minutes . Let cool then cut into little cubes . refrigerate . note : I remember that sometimes , instead of water I used the juice from a can of corn .
  20. I may be wrong here but if memory serves me correctly Stanley Mitchell won a bassmaster classic on a salt water spoon .
  21. I use buzzbaits a lot , plastic worms and old metal lipped Bomber crankbaits have also worked well for me . I find the fishing usually doesnt pick up until about 2 hours after total darkness . I prefer brightly lit nights just because I can see better .
  22. I still have a few.I cant afford to use them anymore. A person can lose a whole sack full in a short time .
  23. I dont allow smoking in my boat anymore . You can spill a beer but no more burning holes in my floor .
