Wind and weather - does it affect your decisions?
I dont care about wind direction its speed that I keep an eye on . Fishing from a jon boat is frustrating with winds over 10 mph. From my deck boat , the sides are high so it gets blown around pretty bad too . I also dont go if temps are over 90 or too cold . This week the weather is going to be pleasant and I plan on going at least twice while I still can.

Flaming Wires Between Graph & Battery (OUCH)
I couldnt find terminals small enough to fit the wires and large enough to go over the post. So I did this. No problems.

Flaming Wires Between Graph & Battery (OUCH)
Happenned to me last year.I extended the trolling motor cable and must have did a poor job of it. Rigged the trolling motor and depth finder in the bow with battery in the stern of a john boat and caught the wires of both units on fire. Burnt my cooler and my jacket to boot. I was at the far end of a 200 acre lake when it happenned. No way I was going to oar all the way back. So I cut off the burned parts, hooked it back up and continued fishing . Now I have new bigger wires.

I dont know if it will work again . I got a photo of one bass. Caught a larger but camera shut down. Using Hula grubs rigged on a jig head below riffle's.

Buzzbaits in Fall
Buzzbaits are my favorite lure to fish. That being said, I havent caught a single fish on one this year. It just hasnt been a buzzbait year.

NOAA - the best feature for me as a bass fisherman.
The forecast here are highly accurate for temps, cloud cover and precipitation but not wind. Last weeks predicted 5 mph wind had gust so strong that lily pad leaves were being ripped from plants. A whirlwind had them flying in the air like Dorothy from Kansas.

Why do people leave their lures just hanging there when not in use?
Man, I do a lot of things wrong.

Can someone please explain why I would use the first hook versus the second hook?
I got that from a youtube video . The crappie bobber stops from Dept stores dont work . I got these from Amazon , super inexpensive, free shipping.

Can someone please explain why I would use the first hook versus the second hook?
I have been using Yum Dingers predominately and use this hook . I add a bobber stop to prevent the worm from balling up on the shank . It has worked 100 percent. Yes, I know a pack of hooks can be ordered that comes equipped with a keeper, I just refuse to order a pack of hooks. A thin wire hook with the worm staying in place allows me a very high hook-up percentage. Even in heavy brush. I'm not catching ten lbers so the hook is adequate.

I use the first hook because Bill Dance used it on a show in 1975 . Tried the second one but prefer #1 on worms. #2 on fat baits when needed.

Favorite part of fall fishing
Weather wise fall is my favorite . Fishing wise, some lakes are down right awful and others great. I like smaller lakes in the fall . The entire thing can be fished and often results in some big fish.

Share Your Favorite Spinnerbaits
After the initial hot spring spinnerbait bite I tone it down . Get rid of the brightness and downsize the blades.

Do you have (fishing) acquaintances that are a one-way street?
I'm an introvert and dont have many bass fishing acquaintances. The people who ask me questions are generally spincast , worm and hook dudes.

A man's got to know his limitations. What are yours?
I cant avoid line twist with Texas rigs. I take my time ,rig them as straight as can be and it still twist . I'm not a noob either been throwing them for almost 50 years. All you guys who say you dont get line twist , I dont believe you anymore.? Liars!

Would you respool?
I recently saw a video where a guy would take line that is kinked , fold his leather belt in two, pull the line through to smooth out the kinks. I havent tried it yet.
