  1. I'm all about plastic as well near my eyes.
  2. 100%!!!!!!! But I was a big fan of Reed Timmer when he was on 4.
  3. Some crazy shots these last couple weeks for sure. Btw, I was a big Ch 4 fan, but now I am sold on David Payne and Ch 9.
  4. Sunline Super Natural is my go to mono line. I used to love Sufix Elite but changed to the Sunline and haven't looked back.
  5. Me too, we know a thing or two about dirty water right now.
  6. Well it got wild here last night. Got our softball games played and got home about 9:30. About 10:00 we started getting rain, then hail, then the winds started blowing like nothing I have ever experienced. We lost internet, TV and cell service. We had no idea what was going on. I got on my Fire radio and asked our 911 center if there were any tornadoes in the area. I was told just rain, hail and 60+ mph wind. All of the sudden we lost power and the hail was hitting the windows on the South side of my house and the North side. Our dept got paged out a short time later to monitor some downed power lines which were just about 1/2 mile away from my house. In total there were 7 poles snapped in half. We were without power from about 10:30 last night till about 11:20 this morning. I took a picture of my rain gauge at about midnight last night and had a touch over 2 inches. I emptied it and took a picture this morning about 11:45 and had almost an inch and a half. So we got about 3.5 inches in about 12 hours. I don't figure we had a tornado, but we had some serious straight line winds. Here is just one of the poles. Sorry, not sure why the pic is sideways.
  7. IMO, it sounds like you have a rod you really like therefore I wouldn't overthink it. That being said, if you have an extra reel just sitting around I would buy one of the other rods just to give it a shot. I would't pay retail though.
  8. Because I have Amber and Blue in my Oakleys and wanted to try green. I also had Grey in a pair of Oakleys that are now at the bottom of Sardis Lake.
  9. I have a pair of Costas and two pair of Oakleys. I like the Costas better. My Costas are Jose's with 580p green lenses.
  10. There's no way it only holds that much 30# Sufix braid. I would think it would hold at least 150 yards.
  11. I have my spool tension knob set super loose and mostly roll cast with it.
  12. Yep, Shimano Scorpion BFS XG on a 6'8" M rod with 15 lb braid.
  13. Most of my moving baits. Squarebills, lipless, chatterbait, spinnerbait, buzzbait, etc.
  14. That's some Wild Wild Information.
  15. 50 lb braid and crank the drag down pretty tight. I have had 9-10 lb striper on Texoma strip drag like it was nothing. Buddy of mine caught his first striper on Texoma during a tournament and it was about 5 lbs. He thought he might have the new state record because he thought it was a LMB lol.
  16. You only have 60 yards of line on your reel?
  17. Someone really doesn't like the BPT.
  18. You can buy some great spinning reels for relatively low costs. Are you talking about buying a used Stella or what? Unless I were shopping for high end, I would buy new.
  19. Living in Oklahoma wind speed often times determines my weight size. I like a heavier weight to C Rig with so usually the lightest I go is 3/8 and all the way up to 1 oz.
  20. We are in the zone again tomorrow. Not near as bad looking as yesterday, but you just never know.
  21. Maybe they should just give all of them the same rod and reel and the same one or two baits and no electronics, no power poles, nothing. Really see who the real men are. Some people here are acting like it's so simple to go out and catch 30-40 fish in a day, well there are plenty of guys that don't do it. Like has been said, nobody is forcing anyone to watch it and I doubt too many of them have about had it with MLF.
  22. Made it through the night. Got really windy and got a lot of rain about 5 this morning. Still blowing about 25+ mph.
