  1. This says it all. Most people have no clue what they are dealing with.
  2. Accident, no. But the first tournament I fished and went to back my partner in the water we were on a 2 boat ramp. The guy in the water still had his head lights on (it was still dark) and I couldn't see a thing out of the mirrors. No biggie, some people just don't know.
  3. 30 or 40 lb braid, I prefer Sufix 832
  4. As Snoop Dogg would say: Straight braid homie
  5. My Papaw Jake and Uncle Doug could have caught more fish than I could have dreamed of when I went with them. Even though they would let me steal their spots and use the same lure they were using. The guys that learned how to catch them off of experience were better than most guys today that rely on electronics.
  6. I'm in the same boat, but I tied one on today to try this weekend. I figure I will catch more grass/moss than fish, but I'm gonna try.
  7. I'm not usually one to brag on my kids, but here goes. I volunteered to coach team this year since I had three girls playing. We just finished our regular season of 10u softball, we went undefeated and my oldest daughter threw three innings and struck out all 9 in a run rule win. She threw 10 balls and 27 strikes. I am SOOOOO proud of her. She is a wonderful kid and a super hard worker and she makes me smile. (Actually she isn't mine, she's my step-daughter but I call her mine since I have basically raised her). Now it's on to Regional's and hopefully the State tournament. I have coached for 16 years and I can't recall ever seeing a perfect game with all outs via strike out.
  8. There are a ton of budget rods out there. Shouldn't be too hard to find one at Dick's. BTW, I guess I should have asked. What's the budget?
  9. Yes, I use the DC for moving baits like a spinnerbait, lipless, squarebill, chatterbait, etc. I throw and or pitch a soft plastic on my Scorpion.
  10. I have a Scorpion 70 and a K, I like the Scorpion by quite a bit more. That being said, my Curado DC is on par with the 70.
  11. Congratulations to her and you! Sounds to me like she was raised right! Good job Dad!
  12. Awesome! Good luck to them!
  13. Lol, first thing I thought when I read the OP.
  14. Btw, I didn't expect a new rod. I got my money out of this one ten fold. I was just more curious how the "lifetime" warranty worked.
  15. Good luck! My Crucial snapped on a fish a few weeks ago. 1st gen, full cork handle version. Went online to fill out the warranty and it wanted a copy of the receipt. The rod is like 10+ years old, I don't have the receipt. Sent them an email and was basically told, too bad. Maybe I just spoke with the wrong person, but didn't seem like I was getting a replacement.
  16. Same
  17. I'm not sure if Marco Vaca does or not. I know he guides Murray and he can slay them on Arbuckle. You can contact him at Get Hooked on Fishing Guide Service on Facebook.
  18. You gonna give us a score tracker update when you boat 124 lbs of fish? ?
  19. Well a jet ski doesn't have a propeller and I guess if you have vision like Ray Charles you "might" cast near a boat. But to think there may be a fatality is wild.
  20. The first gun I ever killed a squirrel with, my Papa Jake's Remington model 33 (circa 1932-1935). Still my favorite, and I still try to "shoot em in the head" like he taught me. I acquired it when he passed in 1997 and kept it all original till about 3 years ago when I refinished the stock.
  21. I live about 50 min south of OKC. Once in that area you could fish Tenkiller, Okemah, or Eufaula which are all very near I40. My choice for a first time trip would be Okemah as it is a smaller lake and holds some great fish. You could also stay there in Okemah Day's Inn, I have stayed there many times, it is by the McDonald's and you wouldn't have to worry about your boat. If you have any questions or need any additional info just PM me.
  22. You will find a TON of good spinning reels for $100 or less.
  23. As some would say, another "dink" fest. That being said, I would love to go out and catch a hundred pounds of fish in a day.
