  1. You gonna be roid ragin when Peyton puts up 38 on em.
  2. I ordered them both from the same place. I have 3 Lews Team pro reels and several tournament pros. Now I get a real cpmparsion between the core and the Lews team reel.. I'm pretty sure the Core is gonna be everything guys say it is... Pretty darn stoked. Wife is tired of me yapping about it
  3. Most yall know, I fish mostly Powell rods. Not too loyal just best bang for my buck and I'm used to them...and Lews reels same deal... Well, I've save most of my per diem money from 2013 and decided to spend a little bit on the finer things. Just ordered a Dobyns Champ Xtreme 704c and Core 100mg. Its gonna be a jig rod. I wanted a NRX, but at 239, I had to go for the Dobyns. Super excited! Can't wait for them to get here! If it is good as they say it is, ... I still have a lot left ovr.
  4. Guns are tools. Every tool has its use. A lot of people with semi atuomatic rifles are enthusiasts and they spend a lot of time and money tinkering and shooting as hobby. Most of these people are law abiding citizens that don't bother anybody. I have 2 and I enjoy them. I don't care what people say or think. It doesn't change the man I am. God forbid anything ever happen on American soil of large scale, but I age there will be plenty of narrow minded anti gun folks that are seeking people like us for protection.
  5. I've been asked to leave a bar because they said my presence was bad for business. I was a police officer at the time, I was off duty hanging with a couple other off duty cops. I thought the bar tender was joking at first...she was not. That's really the first and only time I felt discrimination.
  6. Both. Open hooks are always good..and I like the nose down presentation. But when you need to go weedless, a ewg weighted hook is the ticket
  7. I try not to get into the brand discussion anymore, but ill say this... I own a dozen Lews reels. Namely the tournament pro and now I have 3 Lews team pros. I like them. But I can say this Shimano Chronarch and curdos are dang good reels and I would own one in a min. The shimano reels have also stood the test of time... Lews is still a couple years in the making. I feel good about them but who knows.... Just stuff to ask your self

I don't really beleive the red hooks give any advantage. But I'm sure they don't hurt anything. I bought several packs of red Ewgs from Walmart a few Years ago when they were on clearance and used them up. They worked as well as any other hook.
  9. Javelin 400T, Johnson Venom 200. I am pretty easy on it. It normally put back in it what I use after trip. Haven't ever done the math so in laymens terms, I normally have to put 6 -8 gals back in it after a 6 + he trip. And that me trying to keep it around 4000rpms. On a short trip after work I can get by with putting a couple gals back in. I have used a lot more fuel, but at the current fuel costs, I try to keep it down by limiting how much running I do.
  10. I have Costas. They are unbelievable and great for both fishing and everyday use. Everyone here so far has pretty much said Costas, but ill say that Oakley is also a great choice. I bought a pair of the Radarlock Paths with dark lenses for softball and work and ill tell you what, they are awesome. They are comfy and I can wear them all day. I wear my Costas most days when I'm out or fishing
  11. I may ha e come across on the Web a while back, but I just went to the web site and it looked interesting. I like that the computer format gives you the opportunity to have a visual on what the subject matter but I would think that there are good books out there or videos that would last longer and could be read or viewed again. If you have a specific thing that you want to read about or watch, I'm sure somone on here may have a book or video to loan or to sell to you. You can also look on the web for said books or videos.
  12. Dang New2 I had a ballistic 77M cranking rod for sale on here last spring and I couldnt give it away. I still. Have the thing.. don't even have a reel on it any more. Not a bad rod, just upgraded and didn't need it.
  13. I don't own all of those lures, but some of them and you are exactly right. There is no one do it all bait. Some are better than others in different settings. Great discription of what you like each of them for. It kinda opened my eyes a little more. Based on what I have here in my local lakes and my style of fishing is how I've come to the spro (great all round bait) and the Bagleys great around wood and brush cover! Nothing beats a good old woodbait. Have you tried the Killer B? When the water rises on Kerr Lake ill fish those shore/brush lines with the slightly deeper Killer B and get the same results as I do with the 3 footer
  14. I'm one of them, I won't cast a KVD before I change the hooks. Even with a.glass rod and mono, the hooks will still bend and or break.
  15. Spro fat john and bagly B's KVDs get used a lot here, but the two above are my favs. KVDs are ok but the hooks typically suck and they usually need some serious tuning
  16. I've been up your way working for the past three weeks.... Man I despise the traffic up there.
  17. Now that's what I'm taking about!!
  18. Trigger x always looked a little gimicky to me .. never tried em
  19. Its also fun when you can spend a whole day fishing and you haven't really made a real cast, just short pitches or flips.
  20. Me too! The more well rounded I become the harder it is to put my finger on a specific technique or setting.. because catching fish is fun and it makes it what we like so much... I love to ease down a bank and skip jigs under docks or pitch and punch around hydrilla and water willow. I also keep my frog rod on deck. I know that's not one technique, but I love to shallow water fish and I love it when I can get on a creek or a bank and stay on it all day.
  21. I can't stand that. As a seller. You agree on a firm price over the phone and they show up with the mind set that they are going to bring you down by allegedly only bringing 75% of the original price... As a buyer, I've done that. But when I call to meet, I don't make any negotiations, I simply say ill come by to look at the merchandise. Then I will see how low I can go. But I've never gotten crappy with the seller. Normally if the negotiation fails, ill leave my phone number with the seller and tell them good luck and if other sales don't work out, to call me and of I still have the money ill revisit the idea. And there have been multiple occasions where they call me back willing to sell at my price... Some have caught me within a couple days and I still had the money.... Some have waited too long and I couldn't do it or I had already bought the item elsewhere. Loved the reference to Raider. I saw the FISHING STEREOTYPE video and pictured him as the rage monster... Lmbo
  22. Roanoke Rapids NC. 10 mins from VA. I spend alot time fishing up in VA.
