  1. yeah i have a slightly different Berkley digital scale, but i just double checked and mine reads in lbs/oz as well
  2. tom, pretty sure that scale reads in lbs/ounces... i thought the same thing at first.
  3. i wouldn't take their statements the wrong way Glenn.... they came off as rather humble offerings to me, rather than a complaint of any nature....
  4. I only have one place that i do not share the location with. and it's a known lake, just not to many. my dad shared it with me and i feel like i would be doing him wrong if ever i shared it with someone other than a trusted family member. i would have never shared in terms of how your friend has. i also would not be fishing every day without you as he has....
  5. MS American Shad is a great color, my favorite LC color for sure.
  6. they use a VMC #5 hook
  7. i'm kind of the same way.... typically let if fall to the bottom or desired depth and then pop it one good time to get the blades moving....
  8. a popper for the obvious topwater crash, but a jig for that solid THUMP
  9. no, haven't looked into the chat.... just had a chance to watch it on the other screen while "working"
  10. Just saw Ish appear to be turning his reel handle backwards on his spinning reel. Almost 100% sure that's what I was seeing at least. Can someone tell me why he would be doing that? That may have even said so on the audio, I just don't have the sound on here at work. Thanks!
  11. those are some piglets man! nice going!
  12. i was a little like you up until a short while back and i just realized it's an easy way to avoid a life threatening situation. things can happen in a blink of an eye and even an athletic, good swimmer can find themselves in a bad situation. I don't have any kids myself, but couldn't imagine leaving a wife and child behind for something that may have been easily avoidable..... i recently traded in my older "standard" PFD for the inflatable version and can say that was one of the best moves i've made. the inflatable version is so much more comfortable, i can wear it all day no problem even in the dead of summer. And i fish around this humid h*ll-hole they call atlanta!
  13. white python or black orochi are my 2 most productive. black in really low light conditions, white otherwise.
  14. i like the wire tie after trying them... only another .35 with siebert and never have to worry about losing the skirt or the band rotting.
  15. 3/8 is my all around size. i will go down to 3/16 and maybe up to 3/4 for really deep, but 3/8 is the sweet spot for me.
  16. just throwing it out there to ask if you've considered using baitcasting gear to drop shot? i have personally never done this, but know that with the right rod and reel it can quite easily be done. i'm just throwing that out there because you said you are no fan of the spinning gear.....
  17. I would agree with that! Just was saying of the ~40 reviews on the site they are all 5 stars which the skeptic in me says to proceed with caution. If deakn has 2 and likes them both then that's an opinion I would believe.
  18. drove from ATL to charleston this past weekend. it was 2.29 leaving town, then saw 1.89 in augusta and crossed into SC where it was 1.79! i haven't fueled up for less than $2 since i can't remember when. it was awesome.
  19. not dogging you by any means man, but laying them on the ground really isn't good for them. it can take some of their protective slime coating away from the body. i will not preach to you and say i have never done it, because i have... sames goes for holding them against your clothes or the carpet, etc. as for the livewell pic thing, i never fish in a boat with a livewell so i couldn't pass judgement nor say anything on the topic. i'm one who likes to get a pic of a nice one when i catch them, but they quickly go back in the water right where i pulled them out.
  20. when all else fails, the curly grub on a jig head seems to still catch a fish or two. one day a buddy and i were getting skunked badly in the yaks.... saw a kid maybe 11 or 12 on the bank that appeared to be wearing them out. I asked him how it was going and what he was using. he said the only bait he brought was the 3" curly tail and had already caught about 20, but lost count! my buddy and i hung our head in shame all the way back to the ramp.... neither of us had any curly tail grubs. i now keep some white, green pumpkin and chartreuse on me all the time.
  21. #1 is the yellow magic, don't know why but they work very well #2 is the popmax and pop x #3 is the lake fork magic popper
  22. agree with the plano 3707 spinnerbait/buzzbait box being a good one, but not perfect. In fact, i also use that same box for storing my jigs. the jig heads slide into the little slots rather well. i have to say the plano 3707 spinnerbait/buzzbait box works MUCH better for spinnerbaits than the buzzbaits, but just my opinion.
  23. Thanks for all the feedback guys. Think I'll try Adam's suggestion on the liners. If that doesn't solve it, may look to these coffin boxes. Thanks!
  24. I recently received a 2 piece rod via FedEx.... It left the destination as a 1 piece BTW!!
