  1. you and i think alike, but don't say too much.... one of these days he's likely to raise the prices after all the kudos he gets!!!! and seriously probably the best customer service in the game. he just emailed me sunday (working on sunday) about an order i submitted with some sway jigs unpainted. he just wanted to confirm they were unpainted since everything else i ordered was painted. he's on top of his business that's for sure!
  2. i have a 6'10" MHF tatula that i use for those applications and love it
  3. they're light and sensitive. i had one that had specs made for cranking, but it didn't have enough power for me really. ended up selling it off, but nice rod nonetheless.
  4. i wouldn't have bought every lure and plastic available.... and likely would have gone with all rods from the same manufacturer... that might help me with just dialing in the power and action. otherwise i would have said the same as above, save up and get the nicer stuff rather than middle of the road.
  5. good call there. you can get you some end caps from home depot for that same size pipe that will fit VERY snug, but still be able to remove with a knife or flathead screwdriver or something like that.... it's how i took my rods on the plane and they made it there and back with no problems and they rode in a van on the way to and from the airport.
  6. they've never given me any issues, yet....
  7. I have that rod and love it for cranking. No experience with that reel though.
  8. skip gap hook. keeps the bait on there much easier.
  9. love my avid rod for what you're describing....
  10. honestly, any rod in the $100 - $150 range should be plenty light enough to carry around all day. sensitivity and durability would be my primary factors and that would leave me looking at the *** black gen 2 rods.
  11. i like the zoom flukes. colors are white, albino and disco violet.
  12. congrats clayton! that's a solid unit there and sounds like a great price too! i'd rig up a decent fish finder, make yourself a crate and put that thing to work.
  13. it was all white/chartreuse spinnerbait here yesterday.... definitely a sign "the end of summer is here"
  14. i like the french pearl with the orange belly the most. second favorite is the clear raker.
  15. a buddy and i went out and it was pretty windy, but overall no different fishing than any other day. dink city though, mostly all 1lb or less.
  16. i'd suggest not sitting on a mower, tractor or anything of the sort.... good luck fishing bill
  17. if my med bottles are talking to me, then the Doc has prescribed some great meds.....
  18. Just placed my order Mike, looking forward to giving these jigs a go! Also threw some sway jigs in there to see how they compare to the Owner swing jig heads i've been using (the owners are just too expensive!)
  19. They're great! Almost wish all my rods had no hook keepers just so I could use these on all my rods!
  20. siebert outdoors has a golden shiner color and his swim jigs are top notch
  21. sounds like a pretty uninformed assumption... i take it you've never seen guys fish in the ocean in them either? i would say you'll hear about as many stories of guys falling in from the boat as you will hear guys falling in from the kayak....
  22. i wouldn't let Goose down and not have the proper criteria for the photo.... reel, line, rod, fish. it's a new to me rod. st croix legend xtreme 6'8" MXF paired up with the patriarch 30 size. i was fishing the wacky rig senko with it on sunday and i really like it.
  23. all personal preference bill. i fish from a kayak and find that anything over 7' just presents a real problem for me. also, i have all one piece rods.
  24. I actually have one on right now. If you flip it down over the hook you can keep it rigged no problemo
  25. yeah mine displays it as Xlb Xoz the decimal on glenn's scale is what threw me off as well, but from the online pics i see of that scale, it looks like it displays the decimal even when reading lb/oz like you, not sour grapes, but i see people get that wrong A LOT. as in saying their fish was 5.2 lbs vs 5lb 2oz or vice versa
