I'm looking for a inexpensive kayak stable enough to stand on
i echo the what the others have already said, but wanted to add something on width. more width does not really mean more stability. the hull design has a big impact there. you really do need to try them out and see which works best if at all possible. good luck though, kayak fishing is a blast, i'll be out there tomorrow!

Super Bowl Predictions
well you see youngbuck, before your time, there used to be no such thing as Panthers in NC! And having been born in Montana i had to choose somebody, i mean there's not a professional team of any kind in Montana, OR THE STATES THAT BORDER IT! In fact, the only time i've ever been to see the Broncos was when they played the Panthers 4 or 5 years ago in Charlotte. I wouldn't cry if the Panthers won, but I won't cry when they lose either!

Help me find the ditches
i mean i have the stupid fish finder and feel like an idiot trying to use it sometimes. every time you see these guys who consistently catch fish, you see them really using the electronics to their advantage. if i were to have any type of goal this year it's to get better at reading a map/depth finder!

Help me find the ditches
Thank you Wayne, helpful as always! the map there helps for a starting place for the "high percentage spots" as j was saying. maybe should have mentioned this is in the kayak.... "idling around" is a little different for me! Wayne, i have a follow up question on my unit, i have a lowrance 4x hdi on my kayak. transducer is mounted on a side arm that is in the water right around the mid point of my kayak, probably about 3-4 full inches under water. anyways, would i be better off in the 83 or 200 mode to get better detail on finding these "ditches" or creek channels? i'm a fishfinder dummy..... and thanks all!

Help me find the ditches
I'm really trying to better locate and understand the ditches in some of the waters i'm fishing, but having a little trouble with finding good information on them. i'm looking for some info about how to locate some potential fish holding ditches using the navionics web app or local topo maps to pre-scout. and then how to put my lowrance 4x HDI to work while on the water to really key in on the ditches. can anybody point me to a thread or link or something on how to locate ditches and then beyond that what makes one more compelling than another? Thanks!

favorite bass fishing lake and why?
a very secluded one in western NC that sees virtually no pressure aside from some bluegill kids and a bank trout fishermen. mostly for the scenery and peaceful nature of the place, not to mention some really nice fish and tons of cover to fish.

Need To Pick Out A Subtle Jig Trailer
i like the rage db craws on my finesse jigs. have recently acquired a few packs of rage tail menace grubs to try on this same application.

What is your tackle organization "philosophy"?
"Organized Chaos Theory" all my plano boxes have nice clear label maker labels on them.... now what's really inside may be a mystery at the end of a fishing trip!

Roboworm Smell/Scent?
they "grease" the robot bearings with a special cologne.... the fish go crazy for it!

Swing Type Jig Heads
thirdededed on the dragging.... my favorites are the owner pivot head, but good god they are expensive. but they don't foul up at all, ever, and they look great when you do swim the bait back to the boat. they're pretty "wobbly" so to speak. otherwise, i have some from siebert that work great and a few of the SK structure swing jig heads that i just got that i'm going to experiment with.

Old Kayak thread?
also meant to mention the shoot through the hull.... i used that method on my previous kayak, a sit in, and it worked pretty well. it wouldn't immediately give accurate temps, but within a half hour or so it was within a degree or two of the actual surface temp. if you think about this route, go to Lowe's or Home Depot and in the electrical section find some duct seal. it's like playdough for construction workers and less than $10. you can google how to use it. it's pretty easy to do and removable and you can do it until you get it just right. when done properly it will be a very clear picture. it worked very well in my old kayak for over 2 years and was still holding strong when i sold it.

Bass Raider and rudder
in my opinion and limited experience on my brother's pond prowler, they're not hard to keep straight if you're steering from the front. if you put the motor on the back it becomes a job to keep it straight. sometimes we run with both front and back while moving spot to spot and then i'll work the front to keep us in line while we're fishing. he has no rudder of any kind. great little boat though. we're both just over 200 lbs and i'm 6'0 and he's 6'4 and it handles us both surprisingly well.

YoZuri hybrid
it is very good line. i have used 6 and 8lb on spinning gear, but the 6 was plenty strong enough and handled "slightly" better.

Fish head spin rod

A Few Jigs I Tied
LOL. not really considering i've convinced a few people to order from him already and will definitely order from him again. but i also blame him for opening my eyes to the off-the-shelf jig scene! but Ted A.K.A. cadman was incredibly helpful with showing me how to get started tying and he has an incredible catalog of stuff available to choose from. I like to spread my business around to as many good people as i can. and both mike and ted are good people.

Splitting fuel and other costs with a regular partner
there's some steep ones around in GA too... most are $5, but one i know of is $10 for out of county residents. and no uniformity on who owns the ramps, some state, private, local, etc.

Who would you fish with for a day?
I would have to say either Todd Faircloth to learn from or Andy Montgomery to talk trash with....

Smaller Jerkbait 78 Series Users ?
i'd say the MF action is helping, but all those rod ratings are subjective.... my jerkbait rod is a 6' "MH" rod that feels like a M by most other ratings.

A Few Jigs I Tied
I ordered a bunch of skirt tabs online and got some great jig heads from @cadman and have been wire tying a couple here and there. I really like these 3 here that cover my go-to colors, let me know what you think!

Delaware Valley Tackle
Had to come back and give Mike @Delaware Valley Tackle one more shout out. Just got my rod back that he repaired and it quite literally looks as good as new. Whole thing took less than a week from when i sent to him to when i got it back. Only missed 1 (uneventful) trip with the rod! Thanks again Mike!

Jerkbait line
so far so good, but having no luck with the jerkbait as little as i throw it. that 8# is surprisingly strong and lets me sling the lighter jerks a little further...
