that's an interesting thought. i fish from the yak and sometimes troll in the holders and never really thought about it.... nice looking rod though!

I too liked the set up that Fishing Rhino has so i made something out of what i had, but along the lines of his setup. I took some rod wall hangers that i had and did a little work to make them fit on my scotty mount. i can store 5-6 rods in front of me no problem. only thing is on my kayak, the rods stick out longer than the boat so you have to be mindful if around trees or docks. For me, i would just prefer the stability of the kayak vs the canoe.

we can argue about this all day, but until someone develops a robotic casting machine there will be ZERO fair comparisons to be made. Anyone know how they see which golf ball or golf club hits straightest or farthest? It's a robot, thus everything is in a controlled state. And FWIW, fishing is much like golf in that accuracy will trump distance ERRYDAY......

full on state of emergency here in GA..... we've accumulated nearly 1" of rain and i'm 100% serious that the governor already has declared a state of emergency....

Don't know about your hook dilemma.... But braid stays on my reel until there's not enough line left to use effectively. It will last as long as you keep it on the reel.... i like 6lb seaguar invizx on my lighter spinning reels and it works well for me...

dobyns champions are hard to beat in my opinion.... granted i haven't tried them all, but tried enough to know they're exactly what i want in a rod!
