  1. Going to give the rage blade/clone fry combo a try tomorrow....
  2. Last little box came in, finally going to try some JJ's magic.... Also received a 6' MH lucky craft rod and love it!! New rod for smaller jerkbaits and small topwaters. Very nice clean looking rod, especially for the $50 sale price I bought it at....
  3. from the pics, i can't see anything obstructing the line from the bow hatch to the back. if it's like mine, it's likely "separated" into "chambers" so to speak from the mold of the scupper holes. in other words, i have like 3 paths or lines i can put the rods in, but it's not all one big open compartment. hope that makes sense.... if you see one in person, you'd know in a second if you could or not....
  4. what did you find to be the best presentation for the clone fry?
  5. 1/8 oz panther martin spinner black/yellow dots and gold blade. will catch everything i would want to target.
  6. can't speak to that exact model, but my friend has the coosa and at 11'2" it will easily hold a 7' rod (don't know about longer, never tried). I have a wilderness ride 135 (closer build and specs to the big rig) and i can handle at least a 7'6" as that is the longest rod i've ever owned/tried. I've put up to 8 combos in the hull of ride 135 with no issues (rod sleeves help A TON). one small consideration while putting your rods in the hull: they may slide back and forth which can damage/break a tip. i take a small bit of paracord and go all the way around the rods just in front of the reels and just make a loop, then close said loop into the lid of the hatch. this keeps the rod tight in place and does not allow them to slide back and forth. those big rigs look really nice! i especially like the rod trough/rod tip protectors, very cool design. best of luck with the search/purchase!
  7. agree with RW that for those baits a M/MF would be my preference
  8. i picked some up on sale as well with the sole intention being a drop shot bait. we shall see how it goes!
  9. i like them!
  10. hope you find that rod! sucks to only be in 6' but at near freezing i'm not swimming for it....
  11. if those 2 went shopping at a walmart they would be in a powered scooter for sure! awesome catches there man!
  12. Yes it is. I'll have to give it a shot!
  13. and a couple more items still en route, should be here tomorrow! but now you know why i was off-loading some of my gear in the flea market too....
  14. thank you sir for my daily dose of the dictionary! had to look that one up. i thought it must be of the "turd" family!
  15. Got part of my TW order in today! Had to get it sent to the office to avoid any divorce proceedings! I liked the first Lew's Team Pro Z so much i went ahead and scooped 2 more! And on a side note, TW was not 100% accurate with my order for only the first time ever. However, no big deal. I ordered a black fuji keeper, they shipped a blue one, no biggie. To offset that small mishap, they went one mishap further and threw in a Z man Project Z chatterbait that i did not order!
  16. Yeah and take away the topo maps too..... Rick Clunn just reversed his opinion on it and says he's at a disadvantage for not collecting the info.... with that kind of money on the line i would do anything within the limits of the regulations to gain an edge and push me onto the podium.... after all, greg said it, what they're doing is legal.
  17. mine performed so terribly bad i have to believe it was a defect. i also use the GY grubs and they're great, just a little pricey, but i did get them on a great sale. the UV glow in the dark ones really caught my eye!
  18. i've also mixed the trd's with no impact to the color
  19. i tried a medium diving crank in shad pattern and could not seem to get bit on it no matter how hard i tried. they were biting other similar styles at the time too.... i gave up on it. i also bought one of the top water poppers, hands down WORST one I've ever used. either that or they mis-labeled it and meant to say "slow sinking - sub surface - doesn't really pop popper" great soft baits though!!
  20. literally nothing to worry about. once my wife sold some boots and the buyer claimed they never received them. i can tell you that ebay made my wife (the seller) jump through a million hoops to get it settled. They basically assume the seller guilty and buyer innocent until proven otherwise. wouldn't lose a minute of sleep over it.
  21. i too would toss a jig once you've got 5. i would also consider throwing a soft plastic swimbait of sorts.
  22. i don't do a ton of cranking deep, but i like the spro little john DD
  23. next time you hit the lake, take a glass from your kitchen with you. put some lake water in there and observe closely. if the water is in fact green, i'd call the center for disease control and get out of there quickly i don't think it matters a bit to the fish. if my yellow and green braid still call them in, i doubt a small difference in translucent tints will change things.
  24. @chriwkbrd can tell you that i almost fell out of my kayak on sunday trying to rescue a baby torpedo i saw dangling from a tree and it was about 30 degrees out.......
  25. if it were me, i would say take out the 10b fluoro, it's a bit redundant with the 8 and 12. I would substitute instead with 10 or 12lb yo zuri hybrid. much higher breaking strength than advertised and is a very versatile line.
