Why I am a better ________ angler than you are!
why i am not a better _____ angler than you are.... because i've never met or fished with you to make that determination! i'm always happy to learn something new from anyone, when you think you're the best at something, you're limiting your ability to continue learning.

Evolve Vibra Grub
i have some of the chartreuse en route with crappie in mind for them.... i think they should also do pretty well for me on the little Tennessee fishing for smallmouth, we shall see.

Evolve Vibra Grub
that's one reason i picked up some of the micros

Megabass Warranty/Customer Service?
agree that replacing the tip is easy and i've done it before. just not on a BRAND NEW $300 rod! i'll sit back and see if i get any response from MB before i go all DIY on it... thanks for the input

Megabass Warranty/Customer Service?
i agree with you..... However, BPS has no more in stock. I bought the rod at less than 50% of the retail, so i don't want just a refund. BPS was offering to have me send it in to their own rod and reel servicing and i said absolutely not, but thanks. Yet, at the same time, the insert did come out of the guide which has been taken care of on my other rods from other makers. Was just wondering if i should sleep soundly and hope that Megabass takes care of me. Under any "normal" circumstances though i would absolutely be pursuing BPS 100%

Bps reels and rods
couldn't find the thread, do you have a link to it by chance? probably the most in depth/longest product review ever done on this site....

Megabass Warranty/Customer Service?
I just received an Orochi F6.5-70XX from Bass Pro (last one they had in stock). After spooling it up and using for the first time, i realized the insert is gone from the tip. This was causing my line to make a noise and starting to fray. Of course BPS can't do much to make it right as it was the last in stock and i got it on a big discount. SO a refund doesn't really work for me and they have no more in stock to swap it out. Is this something that i should expect Megabass to fix? I've already emailed them about it, but am waiting on a response. The rod is brand new so I really don't want to have to get it locally repaired already if i can avoid that route. Curious if anyone has any experience with Megabass USA Customer Service and if i should sleep soundly knowing they will take care of me or if i should plan on losing another night's sleep? Thanks all!

Bps reels and rods
the pro qualifier is a great bargain when on sale. someone did a crazy in depth review on that reel on this site (i can't remember who, maybe goose). basically stood the test of time over and over! and as RW said, inspect closely and return if you feel it necessary. BPS is great about taking returned merchandise.

Major League Bass Fishing
best part about the MLF is watching the guys in the back of the pack start to sweat about how the guys in the front are catching them.... the live updates and everything make it more of a mental game that one would imagine. i also agree with DVT that it is a made for TV type of format. having that "marshall" in each and every boat evens the field, but is not very likely in a local or club type tournament.

Powell inferno
well, i did get to cast my rod around a little bit, but no bites of any kind to make any real judgements. i bought the 6'10" Light spinning rod and everything about it says it will be a great dropshot rod and my intent is to make it a dedicated drop shot set up.

Curado 300e
good suggestion/question from iabass about the connecting knot. i've had that happen before and would make the line do some weird stuff on the spool.

Backing on reels
literally anything cheap that i have laying around.... may be some leftover yozuri hybrid, big game mono, etc. just whatever i have that is relatively cheap. i also TRY to keep the backing and main line diameters somewhat close, i really don't know why, but that's just some personal mental thing i suppose.

Avid comparable to Cara T7?
i would agree with a lot of guys that the avid x feels like a much more balanced rod than the regular avid, but that's my uneducated opinion.

Sub 7' rods
i have no trouble finding sub 7. i currently have 6 casting combos and 4 spinning combos. 2 of them are 7' otherwise, they are all under. 6'9 is about the sweet spot for me.

Pick a baitcasting rod for me, please: Dobyns Saavy vs. Denali Kovert vs. G. Loomis E6X
dobyn's customer service is phenomenal.... and the rods are sweet too. i'd lean to the dobyns with the e6x in second place.

Power up my kayak
Darren gave some rock solid info that helped me get some power to mine. I've actually just kinda finished all the tweaks and everything, but have no photos right now. i have a 30lb minn kota cheapo. i enlisted my genius dad's help and he helped fashion a custom made mount for mine that is beyond rock solid. in hindsight, i wish i had just forked over the money and done the legit TM plug, but instead i just used wire connectors on it (again, would have done the plug thing 1,000 times over). i will try and snap some pics and upload here, i owe them to Darren at least for helping me find the motivation to get mine done!

New to fishing. What kayak should I buy?
broken record here: demo, don't rig it until you've paddled and fished a few times. i would look hard at the ATAK and feelfree lure 11.5. as said, don't forget to budget for fishfinder, pfd and paddle (assuming you want a fishfinder). i recently bought an onyx manual/auto inflatable PFD and it is a gamechanger. i now wear my pfd 100% of the time because the thing is just comfortable and after a while you forget you have it on. i actually made it from the ramp to the gas station yesterday before i realized i still had my pfd on!

Flash mob jr.
i would absolutely love to tell you,......... but my flash mob jr found it's way to the bottom of the lake yesterday when my braid snapped it off on a backlash

2nd Year as BPS Local Pro!
you could talk about the culture or how so many want to be sponsored or a pro-staffer and how that's not really the name of the game....

Evolve Vibra Grub
i bought some as well, but haven't received them. also bought some of the micros to try out in the river. they look pretty versatile and for the price i thought they deserved a shot!
