not sure what the question is either, but yeah they look like they'll work.... but i'm not buying a $15 unless i'm quite certain it's worth it.
  2. panther martin brand
  3. way to get on a pattern man! have to ask since you're from the triad..... Heels, Pack or Devils? (i guess maybe pirates since you mentioned ECU)
  4. if i'm not throwing the black/gold one i showed above, it's the same size and brand, but yellow w/ red dots and silver blade. if you can't catch on one of those two, there may not be any fish in your waters!
  5. you're already on the right track as far as i'm concerned. for this situation, i'd go like 20lb braid and leader of your choice. Otherwise, you could go straight mono, but my preference would be braid + leader.
  6. WHOA!! you get an allowance!! have her talk to my wife....
  7. that's my dad's bait of choice on the bluegills. BUT he will also rig them with split shot sinkers a little way up the line and does really well that way. i've caught a lot on the old worm and bobber method and also quite a few on a panther martin spinner.
  8. wow, that's quite a process and good info Tom. Just wanted to note that there is quite a difference in the meat and skin of a "hog" versus that of a "pig". These may just be differences in terminology, but one is the domesticated animal we all think of when we think bacon. The other is that wild black beast that came over here from Russia. Having hog hunted enough to know that there skin is considerably thicker than that of a domesticated pig. Would be interesting to do a little test with strips from both the hog and pig to examine the differences after processing them.
  9. i had the BPS ascend and it did work great, but then found an Onyx auto inflate on sale. i sold the BPS one the next day i think. the auto inflate is the only way to go. i mentioned in another thread that on sunday i made it from the ramp to the gas station in my truck before i realized i hadn't taken my PFD off yet. it made a huge difference like from wearing it maybe 25% of the time to wearing it 100% of the time. i know my wife is happy about it.... if you have a budget of $100 i think you could find a good one on sale that would fit the budget
  10. i too store all my extras on the peg board. i'm not worried about them losing color from the light, no more than on the shelf at some retailer.

It is great! I usually bring the baits home unless I'm low or out of that bait and then a repair on the spot is needed.
  12. #1 super special top secret bait for this situation: 1/8 oz panther Martin spinner. Black one with yellow dots and the good blade. Might look like this (notice it's already tied on)
  13. Never seen it in a Walmart around me.i bought some bigger spools on eBay a while back for pretty cheap.
  14. Either 4lb mono or 10lb braid + leader
  15. I'm typically within the specs of the rod anyways.
  16. Fairly certain it costs a great deal of money. It's been my line of work since about late '09. To simply print and ship the catalogs would be a mind numbing amount of money. It's why fewer and fewer places have a paper catalog anymore.
  17. you'd be surprised the amount of time, money and effort it takes to collect product information from 100's or 1000's of vendors. let alone having it all ready to go and clean with photos at one time to print, very difficult. couple that with the fact that very few people receive and read the paper versions anymore and it's destined for dirt. for one, i'd prefer they do away with them. if not, offer me $5 or $10 store credit for NOT taking one (saving them money).
  18. and for the record, i spoke with a CS rep at Megabass and they were most helpful. They offered to either send me a tip or for me to pay one way shipping to texas and have them repair it themselves. i know the obvious answer for most is to DIY, but i went with the ship to them route. i'm just not good with that type of stuff myself and know my own limitations! i will receive a very reasonable shipping charge on my fedex account so i'm not too worried about that part of it. very thrilled with the outcome, Megabass was ready and willing to make it right!
  19. good to know about the dugout, i'll keep them in mind.
  20. it was quite literally the very last one in the warehouse at BPS, i called the order in over the phone to ensure i got it!
  21. LOL. That Stella and envee combo made me say UGH!
  22. ^^^ what he said!
  23. i've never made a new year's resolution and am happy to say that i've stuck to all of them!
  24. bill are you on some residual perma-trip or still in the processing of dosing or dropping? sun still rises in the east and sets in the west around me....
