  1. that's a killer trio!!
  2. I'm a big fan of MLF. Just watched some FLWs this past week and only saw about 10 minutes (maybe) of fishing in the 60 minute show....
  3. I did the same on Wednesday, haven't tried them yet so for $6 seemed like the right time...
  4. Got my Powell inferno 6'10" L spinning rod today and only had a few minutes to look it over but it looks great! Brought it with me on an overnighter with the wife. Going to hit the bank at a small lake tomorrow and try it out along with the new Orochi!
  5. saw some crazy aerial footage of some flooding in north GA and western NC. in one of the pics you can clearly see my brother's house.... it's crazy, be safe!
  6. LOL, my current rod list (with a couple of them just recently purchased): Dobyns Berkley Megabass St Croix Daiwa Lucky Craft Powell In all, i've owned a number of other brands. each rod though serves a specific purpose.....
  7. had one do something similar to me not too long ago. sent it to Mike at DVT and found it to be missing a friction ring??
  8. Mike at DVT has taken great care of my reels, wouldn't consider another person or place at this point.
  9. should not be a problem, have you considered something like this? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004IRC4DW?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00
  10. i really like the lews reels i have owned and do own. in fact, i have 2 more en route....
  11. your dad and my dad are twins it sounds like! he hand picked through every single rod Cabela's offered until he found just the right pistol grip rod.... which happened to be some cheapo combo. he tore the reel off, and put his trusty daiwa gold spincast on there and he was a happy camper. that old schooler still catches them though.....
  12. i couldn't find much of anything on them myself.... i pulled the trigger on a 6'10" L spinning rod last week... they looked so similar to a dobyns champion to me that i didn't think i would be disappointed.....
  13. you got a great deal there! i have the 6'10" MH and it is one crazy light rod, really like mine.
  14. doesn't make much difference to me... they'll still be full price like everything else at BPS
  15. send it to mike at DVT... he's the man... he has fixed one or two of my idiot mistakes just this year!
  16. while at my brother's house in western NC on Christmas eve, the county was under a state of emergency for flooding.... it's been crazy here in GA too.
  17. I went a little overboard..... But it's going to be fun unboxing and using it! Rods and reels would be favorite days. (2) lew's team pro z's 7.1:1 powell spinning rod 6'10" L lucky craft magnum casting rod 6' MH some gambler plastics couple packs of trokar hooks few packs of jackal clone fry shad couple packs evolve grubs
  18. zona is killing it here with what i think is a metanium.... http://www.bassmaster.com/video/skipping-jigs-mark-zona
  19. AJay said it... wind. not to say it doesn't work otherwise, just my best spinnerbait days include wind. i would opt for a change in blades if getting short strikes, either change color or size. matter of personal opinion, but i never use a trailer hook on my spinnerbaits.
  20. just curious what you were seeing at yours? i went to the local store here and didn't see anything on sale or even close to it...
  21. looks calm as can be, nice day!
  22. nice score!! my only words of advice are to paddle and fish it for a while before you go crazy rigging it up.... fight the urge to rig it too soon and you may avoid some headaches down the road.
  23. i hate putting any holes in my kayak, but i only put rivets in the holes.... nothing seems to work better in my opinion. Those Tri-Grip rivets are worth the extra money too for putting into the kayak....
