  1. ^^^ humans attack 4" hamburgers all the time. They're called sliders. We just need 4 of them.
  2. Forgot to add, the R has cutouts in the frame. I think that's where the weight difference is from.
  3. It's just a few things. Zion drag star, black paint with red accents,2 corrosion resistant bearings, .03 ounces lighter which is because of the spool. Comes in an 8:1:1 ratio I have both and can't tell a single bit of difference between them. Only bought the R for the ratio.
  4. Lews tp can be found for $150 online. Great little reel. Upgrade, not exactly but it's smaller and lighter. I played with a curado I the other day in field and stream. It had one heck of a tight spot while reeling it. I know that's not the norm but I was a little turned off by that.
  5. I'd rather not have to pay $9 international shipping for $1 worth of shims. I finally found some online from an rc helicopter place.
  6. Anyone know where I can buy these? Since Daiwa only sells complete handles,I can't go that route. I need to purchase about 8 or more. I had some extras that came with my RCS knobs but used them up on other reels. Thanks in advance BR.
  7. I purchase unseen but now stick to only a few brands. Went through a lot of companies and ended up not liking some of the rods. Take reviews lightly. You are the one using it. The majority of what I bought all had good reviews on here and other places. We all like different stuff. *** black for example. Everyone raves about them and though it was a good feeling rod,I couldn't handle the trigger. It dug into my finger. Had to sell the rod for $80 and $30 of that went to shipping. So I got $50 back out of $120 rod. I've had a few of those lessons and it gets expensive after you do it 3 or 4 times. I have nowhere close to look at gear. 2hrs to the nearest bps or cabelas. 1hr to gander mtn. or field and stream. All of which don't carry certain brands.
  8. I can't say that I agree with that. Also weight isn't a bad thing depending on the rod it's paired up with. The new model exceler is an ok reel for $70. I had 2 and didn't have any trouble. Also had 2 lexa's and they were ok too. You can get those for about $80-90 but at that price it would be a tatula instead. I can't speak on the new lfs but I had the regular $99 speed spool. It was ok also. I'd say it was just a tad better caster verse the exceler and even with the lexa. All 3 will be fine.
  9. Just keep your eyes open. Winter is coming and a lot of people sell stuff off for good prices. Either to upgrade or just get some money for Xmas, ect. I missed a steez last Dec. that had a buy it now of $200. I just didn't have the extra cash.
  10. Endurance 723 with steez 100hl Retail $800 plus $100 in upgrades $550 invested Phenix 713 with px68l Retail $700 $400 invested
  11. A few of my friends that I turned to the darkside started with a pro max and vendetta rod. The reeks are still in use but they all experienced breakage issues with the rods. Though Walmart will exchange them with no hassle.
  12. It has an even longer handle now because I sold that one and bought a 94mm hawgtech. Nope, I'm sticking with genius.
  13. Does this mean the Jdm tdz I bought off Francho is worth more because he's a frikin' genius?
  14. All I know, is some of you make me feel stupid when it comes to math.
  15. I have an okuma rtx 25 and it's a sweet reel for $70. Super light and the drag is smooth. I replaced an okuma trio 30 that I used for many years. That reel is still in use today too.
  16. I'll use his bicycle reference in a different way. You have 2 bikes with 20" rims. There are 175mm cranks on one bike and 185mm cranks on another. Distance traveled with one full rotation of the pedals is the same.
  17. One rotation of the handle,no matter the length, still turns the spool the same amount of times. It changes nothing but torque. Ipt stays the same.
  18. My buzzbait rod is a 7' mh/xf powell max and it works great. #12 yozuri and a 3/8 cavitron. Use a sweeping hook set and you should be fine.
  19. 1.5 in perch has boated 3 of my 5 smallies today. Grabbing some food and we'll be back on the water until dark.
  20. Snags happen to use all. Loosing kures is s part of the game and means you are putting them in the right place. A t rigged senko with a small bullet weight is pretty snag resistant. Skin hook the hook back into the bait. Spinnerbaits come though cover pretty good also.
  21. Carbontex drag and a good cleaning is all it needs but a spool upgrade doesn't hurt at all if you want to spend the money on one. Bearings are an enthusiast thing and don't do much. Even Mike will tell you that they don't make a big difference. Same with free spool times.
  22. I keep things simple. Braid = original power pro Mono = yo zuri hybrid Fluoro = Sunline sniper
  23. New or used? Used, file a claim with PayPal and get a refund. Then buy a new one. New,return it to the seller and get a replacement or send it to Daiwa.
