Give Me The Skinny On The Champ 703C
You are probably the 4th person I've seen that from. This guy says the same thing too.

Kind Of Shocked
Haha if yours is anything like mine then it's a terrible guard dog. Sleeps more than anything.

Give Me The Skinny On The Champ 703C
Yeah basically all of you are saying the same thing. It will definitely have a spot in my rotation. I just read a few conflicting reviews saying 1/2oz isn't a problem. I'm excited to give Dobyns a try after all the great things I hear about them.

Give Me The Skinny On The Champ 703C
Can anyone tell me why this is? Is it due to the soft tip or are they just not rated like most other mh rods? That just seems really wimpy. I throw a lot of 3/16 and 1/4 with rage craws or 7" rage anaconda worms.

Give Me The Skinny On The Champ 703C
Okay so I happened to find one that had a great price. So I now own a 703. One thing I've always noticed is it seems that they are underpowered when people are talking about what weights they use them for. It's rated 1/4-3/4 mh/f just like any other mh I have. My powell endurance 3 power can throw everything without a hitch. 1/2oz is about where I set the cutoff from it to the 4 power. From what I read from anyone though is a 4 or even a 5 power would be your choice in the dobyns lineup. So is this rod more of a medium in a sense? It'll be my plastics rod and I typically don't use anything more than a 1/4oz weights but sometimes I use 3/8ths if it's needed. When bank fishing though I need it to be an all around rod.

What'd You Get This Black Friday (Or Thursday Lol)?
Well I just happened to jump on eBay and found a Dobyns Champion that was just listed an hour ago. Too hard to pass up for the price. So I now own my first Dobyns rod.

Powell Diesel Spining Rod?
It's not bad for what it is. It's a $50 rof so it's not the lightest. Just a heads up though. It's labeled as a medium but it's a medium heavy. It's stout!

What'd You Get This Black Friday (Or Thursday Lol)?
Same here. Was hoping to pick up another tatula but even with sales they're still cheaper on eBay or Amazon. So I can get one anytime really.

Black Friday Decision
I've owned both. If money is tight then the Lexa is a good choice. If you can spare another $20-30 then I'd buy a tatula. It feels more solid and is a better caster. The lexa does palm better and isn't a bad reel though. The bearing supported pinion of the tatula makes it feel very smooth.

Lures You Use But Don't Catch Fish.
I've never caught a fish on a jerkbait. So I don't throw them anymore.

Help Choosing A Swim Bait Rod
If you prefer a low profile reel instead of a round reel. Look at the Daiwa lexa 300. Very popular reel in the swimbait world. You can find them for about $130ish on flea bay. The cardiff 300 for about $95.

Which Phenix Rod?
^^^ the recon 2 has it in a different spot and it's a different style keeper. I have the 713 paired with my px68. It's super light and very fun to fish with. It's handled a large assortment of baits. I picked it over the m1 because I like it's reel seat better. Also from feedback on here from other members.

Help Choosing A Swim Bait Rod
The guide select 7'11 heavy handles 3oz baits nicely.

Powell Inferno
Well they are trying to help you out. Why buy an inferno for $130 when you can get an endurance for the same price? It's s no brainer if you ask me. Better blank with better components for the same price. It's like paying $12 for top sirloin when you can get a porterhouse for $12.

Any Interest In A Swing Jig?
I've seen some people recently saying that they wish they could find some in lighter weights. Maybe a 3/16 with 3/0 hook or even an 1/8 with 2/0.

Shimano Chronarch 50E.
Yes, it is basically a white curado. As for lure weight. I've thrown 3/4oz spinnerbaits on one but I'll say it's not practical. It was the only reel I had with me. The reel doesn't hold a lot of line. If you were in close quarters the capacity wouldn't matter as much though.

Shallow Spool And Braid
On my Px68 I used about 1.5 wraps of electrical tape and then tied my braid using an arbor knot as usual. The braid digs into the tape and allows it not to slip. Using #15 power pro braid. I have more than enough on the spool now. I was occasionally hitting my knot using #6 yozuri hybrid. With braid I get down to maybe 1/2 spool of line.

How Long Is Your Pitching Rod?
I can pitch with any of my rods but the rod that I use the most, any time I fish, would be a 7'2 mh
