  1. ^^^ what he said. Open the package and tie it on.
  2. So from what I gather, the 3 power is overrated? It's labeled up to 3/4oz but the consensus leads me to believe it's not good for a 1/2oz spinnerbait or 3/8oz t rig or buzzbait.
  3. I see them online for $90-100
  4. Was my first casting rod along with a bps Pq reel. Used it a lot and sold it off. Still being used by a friend years later.
  5. Also what's your idea of light? When I think of light line, #6-8 comes to mind. Typical spinning gear sized line. A lot of people use fluoro for cranks because it sinks and it allows you to use a higher strength line due to it's size verses mono. Example... #10 mono and #14 fluoro are roughly the same size. When you step down to say #10 or 12 fluoro you can gain a foot or more in depth.
  6. I might get a bit of crap from this but I don't care. I have 2 powell endurance 723's. #1 has a high end daiwa with os7's and upgraded spool #16 sniper. #2 has a stock Tatula with suffix 832 #50. Though #1 is considerably lighter,I find myself using the tatula a whole lot more. It's just a great reel for $100.
  7. Yeah, I'm just saying it's the same line as the FC sniper, except it's colored so you can line watch. The sniper is a good line. You should like it. Just be careful with tying your knot. That's with any FC line.
  8. I use super fc sniper on all my reels that have fluoro. It runs about $25 for a 200yd spool or you can get a 600yd spool for $50. Use mono backing on your reels and you can fill 3 with a 200yd spool. Bms is just a colored version,I believe.
  9. I'll be fishing it on Monday. I plan to at least land a few pickerel on it and hopefully a few bass too. Out of the rod tube it looks good. Build quality is nice. Straight guides and no extra epoxy on the guides. It's extremely light. With a fully spoolled px68,the total weight is 10oz. Balance point with that reel is just above the reel seat nut. I've never owned a ml casting rod so I have nothing to compare it to head to head.
  10. The Berkely lightning rod shock isn't bad for $50.
  11. Ups delivered my TW order here at work. Rod is extremely light and the overal combo weighs nothing. The colors of the recon match the px68 perfectly. Have an all day trip planned for Monday. Holefully I can put it through its paces.
  12. I'll remember that. My recon 713 will be arriving today.
  13. I spoke with Keith about this new series of rods. It's supossed to be an all new blank that's just as good if not better than the endurance blanks. They're also using popular lengths and powers from both series. There was no mention of stopping production on the Endurance series and I would hope that's not the case. It's my favorite rod for $150 and they're hard to beat at $200.
  14. A single blade buzzbait will always lean towards one side. Due to the configuration of how the blade turns in the water. It's not real bad though. The hook and the wire the blade is on should be in line. The top wire should also be parallel with the lower wire.
  15. He answered your question just fine. Actually its a pretty thorough answer. Maybe you just aren't getting it. It's been said a few times already. Change speed Change lures Change size Change color
  16. I'll let you know. It'll be here on Wednesday and I have a trip planned for Monday.
  17. I'm ordering a Phenix recon 7'1 ml/f tomorrow. It's rated up to 1/2oz. It's basically going to replace my spinning rod. 1/8oz tubes,1/8oz trick worms,4-5" wacky worms,1/4oz buzzbaits,3/8 spinnerbaits,3/16oz rage craws.
  18. Mattlures just finished a new batch of hardgills. They didn't go in minutes but a few hours.
  19. I had one that sank pretty quickly. I used some clear aquarium sealant and put over the hole where the hooks exit. It works a lot better now.
  20. Alright thanks a lot. I got it for $225 so I didn't steal it but I didn't over pay either. It looks to be in very good shape for how old it is.A few light marks on the top.
  21. Turn your mag brakes off and start with 2 centrifugal on. The TP is pretty much set and forget unless you have drastic lure weight changes. 1/4-1/2 baits those settings did well for me. I only touched the mags if the wind picked up.
  22. I will let you know for sure. I tried to pull the trigger the other day but TW wouldn't allow me to use 2 different cards to pay with. 1/8oz plus a tube or grub will be the smallest I use. For you enthusiast, what's a good price on these reels? I feel that I did pretty good but I'm curious.
  23. Lightest I've thrown would be a 5" wacky on 2/0 finesse wide gap hook and a fluke on a 3/0 owner twistlock light. Both on a mh rod and #30 pp.
  24. I messed with it this morning tossing a bare 3g jig head. It's one sweet reel. Now I just have to learn to use finesse tactics haha.
