  1. Shhh Capt.Bob,the shimano sheriff might get you.
  2. ^^^ nailed it! I love the ish's phat frog and poppin' phattie.
  3. The bb1 pro wasn't out at that time. Either were the bb1 inshore or bb2. The bb1 holds a decent amount of line. My 2 were for crankbaits. For a general use casting reel I'd pick the tournament pro. I'd actually pick that reel the majority of the time.
  4. I had a bunch of Lews reels at one point including the bb1 and bb1xxx. I didn't notice any difference really when compared to my other Lews. They all were good casting reels. I'd own another one.
  5. That brake system was on the re introduced BB1 2yrs ago or whenever that was.
  6. It just depends on what H model you had. They have certain H models that have the ratings of a med/hvy and also certain med/hvy models that have the ratings of a med. Then they have H and med/hvy that have true ratings for that rod. There is no set standard in the fishing industry for power ratings. A 7'6 MH Veritas has a 1.5oz lure rating but so does a 7'6 Jadewood XH. OP here is a chart of Falcon rods. Choose your model based on the correct length, power, and action of what you want to throw.
  7. Looks like you have a great start going. Like mentioned don't get too tied up in it all. Find what works and build your collection from there. Though it is nice to have a large amount of tackle to choose from,I find myself being able to fish a whole day with 3 3700 Plano boxes minus a few bags of soft plastics. I feel confident enough that I could take these items with me and catch fish on any body of water.
  8. Those are all single hook baits. For me I don't want any stretch. I'd skip the mono and go straight braid or braid and a leader if need be.
  9. Yeah it was in it's on little area away from the main aisle. Crappy part is I just bought a bunch of spinshots and sk trailer hooks from there last week. Should of waited. Oh well I grabbed a bunch of mustad trebles. Can't pass up $3 for 6 hooks.
  10. The one under the handle is fine stock and you only need 4 for the knobs and worm gear. The rating won't affect them.
  11. I just went with the cheapest I could find. They were from a place that's sells bearings for rc cars. I paid less the $6 for the 4 bearings.
  12. I was recommended the Buckeye J Will swimbait jig head. They have a 5/0 hook and that's for any of the weights offered.
  13. There's a few ways to do it. Soak in acetone, soak in hot water and degreaser like simple green, brake cleaner from a parts store. I use brake cleaner because I always have it around the garage and it just works very well for me.
  14. Falcons are over rated in the sense of power. The heavy is a true med/hvy and their med/hvy is a medium. Go by lure specs and not the power rating. For example their 6'10 H is labeled as a pitchin' stick but the lure ratings are 1/4-3/4. Those are md/hvy specs by any other company. Then their 7'2 med/hvy has ratings of 1/8-3/8
  15. It makes casting the same distance a bit easier. It improves pitching a bait. The better bearings allow for quicker startup on the pitch. Unless you have superb thumb control you aren't going to be floored by the results.
  16. No way! Now an endurance maybe. Just kidding. It's all good man. I don't get my feelings hurt over the internet like a lot of these people do.
  17. Contact DVT as he offers 10% off for BR members. The boca os abec 7'a normally run about $25. They also offer an abec 5 which would be nice too. I would flush and lube your stock bearings first. It makes a huge improvement. The upgraded bearings for me is just more of a tinkering thing. Also thank you for the kind words.
  18. Just a heads up for BR members. My local walmart had a bunch of items on clearance. Mustad trebles, both the triple grip and 2x/1x for $3. Various Vmc hooks including spinshots for $3. Sk tour grade trailer hooks for $1.50 weighted and unweighted owner spring locks for $2.40 Also various rods.
  19. I'm not sure if the action will be the same but for those who can't find them but have a bps nearby this might be a good substitute. For me bps or cabelas is 2hrs away. Gander mtn and dicks are 1hr. Small town living at it's best haha
  20. I wasn't referring to the bait in the pic. That was just to show the heads I bought. I saw them online while looking at Bps.
  21. hahaha that's a good gif. I will say I'd take a Lews TP over a curado 50e any day. It's just as light, longer handle, metal drag star, better looking and functions just as well.
  22. I saw today that BPS has a 3.8 and 4.8 version that look the same. Even have the same name for colors. Same price though. I also grabbed some swimbait heads in 1/8-1/4-3/8 that have a 5/0 hook and kinda look like the J will. Price was just a lot better.
