Costa Help
Green mirror is said to be the best all around color. I have the 580 in plastic. I don't feel the need to have a 2nd pair.

How long do you keep rods?
I bought and sold until I found the rods I wanted to keep. Then I'll hold onto them until whenever I decide that something new is interesting. So far I've had the same Megabass rods for 2yrs and don't see a need to upgrade. They do have a new lineup that'll be available soon but I'll probably pass on those.

My Rod & Reel Arsenal Goals
Why so many setups? Are you a regular tournament angler? You can pull double and triple duty with a few of them. Different strokes for different folks though.

Tatula SV TW 'sneak peak'
It's probably the best spool on the market right now. You can cast both light and heavy baits with it. The magic is in the braking on the spool. It's almost impossible to backlash. Hard to explain it until you've tried one out.

What is a good jerkbait with a reasonable price
Rapala shadow raps run about $8ea. Nice baits with a good selection of colors.

What Would You Consider a BFS Lure?
A light or ultra light power rod with light line, throwing a light bait is what most consider BFS 'bait finesse system' It's very popular in Japan and has made its way over here. Theres no exact weight but generally stuff under roughly 5 grams fits the bill. A Jackall flick shake worm on a 1/16th jig head would be a good example. A weightless 3" senko is another. A lot of popular bfs rods only have a max lure weight of 7 grams.

Sunline sniper #5

favorite 17lb fluorocarbon line??
Yeah, same here. It's reasonably priced and handles well without line conditioner.

Sunline sniper FC #16 Definitely some great line!

Handle, etc bearings
4x7x2.5 is the size you need. You'll need 2 of them for that reel to make it a 4bb handle. If you have a hobby store near you that sells rc cars and helicopters you can get them there. If not then order them online.

Cleaning rods? Waxing rods?
I use Meguiars quick detailer since I have a bunch of it around.

All downhill from here, Justin.

7 ft. - minimum - BFS casting rod
True bfs rods are usually under 7ft. Generally around the 6'6 range and less. St. Croix rods have been known to fish heavier than their ratings. So it's possible the avid was truer to its actual ratings. What's the lightest stuff you plan to throw? Phenix offers a 712 and a 713 in their recon series. Nice rods for the money.

My CT Type-R is here, but ...
I don't like the color red. A little bit is alright for accents but I'm with you on a reel can have too much. Exactly the reason I won't buy the Steez Namiki limited. Even though I really want one.

Type R = red for Daiwa

Tatula SV TW 'sneak peak'
I've also seen that it's been confirmed that it'll fit the new CT tatulas already out.

Tatula SV TW 'sneak peak'
It does say G1 but it doesn't say sv like all the other sv spools do. Also the tatula sv spool will be 33mm and have a pinion shaft. Here's a shot of it.

Tatula SV TW 'sneak peak'
The new Steez A is not equipped with the sv spool from all the pics I've seen.

Just read that retail will be $199 for it.

shimano curado green reel
It's an older reel but still a good one. There's a ton of folks who love the green curado 50 reels.

Tatula SV TW 'sneak peak'
There are some differences between the jdm model and the us model so it could come in a bit cheaper. It also could be a tad higher though like the jdm alphas sv '$200' and the us sv 105 '$270' We will have to wait and see once it's released around the classic. The differences for those who are wondering... jdm - 80mm handle and different knobs. Usdm - 90mm handle and paddle knobs.
