Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
Top of my list was being able to haul my kayak and do good in the snow. Better gas mileage than my truck was the next big thing. I've never had an issue hauling rods in any vehicle as long as the back seats fold down. Even a Suzuki sx4 and they're small. Now I can't tow my 19' boat but I'm trying to sell it since I don't use it a lot.

I had to buy something to haul my fishing gear and kayak with. It still counts right?

Uni To Uni Issue With Knot Catching On Guides
I use the Albright special. Amount of wraps depends on the diameter of lines that I'm joining. I would try 10 wraps for those lines. Braid is the green line in the pic.

Thoughts On River2Sea Clackin' Craw
Cool idea but doesn't work that well. I found to get any vibration out of the tail I have to stroke it off the bottom.

Good Finesse Baitcaster 1/8 - 3/16 Oz Baits
I was using a PX68 which is a finesse reel with a shallow spool. #15 braid and abec 7 spool bearings. Mounted on a medium light 7'2 rod. It handles it but more practice would obviously help. I spent maybe 10 minutes fooling around. As I stated I'll never have a need to go that light.

Good Finesse Baitcaster 1/8 - 3/16 Oz Baits
I've casted a bare 3.5g jig head. It's really tough to do. Distance and accuracy were not there. Honestly I'd never use a bait that light so it doesn't matter but I wanted to try it.

Tying Braid Directly To Spool On Baitcaster??
I use electrical tape around the spool on a few of my reels that don't hold a lot of line. Never had an issue with slipping.

Good Finesse Baitcaster 1/8 - 3/16 Oz Baits
The lizard is 6.5 grams without hook. Over 1/4oz with. A medium rod should cast it pretty good.

Swimbait Rod Help
Just don't go with the MH. I have the 7'11 H and it handles what you listed very well. Anything over those weights I'd go with the XH though.

I'm not either but in my limited experience fishing my Hudd's I reel them very slowly. That's using a cardiff which is 5:x:1.

Hudd Gill
It will catch fish in any color water. You don't think bass eat gills in stained/muddy water?

I ordered it on the 12th, and it was delivered on the 17th. That included the weekend too. My gills arrived today also. Time to flip those suckers haha

Tying Braid Directly To Spool On Baitcaster??
The holes are there to lighten the spool but you can tie the line through them and there won't be any issues. People do it all the time. Looks like you're going to have to tie your line to something and walk it off down to the spool. Tie through the holes and reel it all back on.

It's a small frame and pretty light. I don't like the short handle but I already ordered one the same time I bought the reel. It'll get Boca bearings but I do that to all my reels. Casting seems pretty normal for what I was using. About average with my other reels. Line lay could be a tad better unless I got a dud. Odd thing I noticed was when pulling drag the line guide moves on the gear.

A trick worm is 5.45 grams '3/16' without a hook. Add a hook and you are almost at 1/4oz. Add 1/8 weight and it's almost 3/8oz. A lot of 50 and 100 sized reels can throw a 1/4oz without any issue. Using the right rod helps too of course.

It's small and pretty light. Needs cleaned, boca os7's, and a longer handle. The last 2 are already in the mail. I'll clean it then too.

Daiwa Tatula Type R Question
That is the L mechanical brake knob from Hedgehog Studios. It comes with washers to make it work properly on the Tatula. However it will not enable the tatula to click. The reel doesn't have the required parts from the factory. It's just eye candy for $30

Multi-Purpose Setups
The Tatula rod series is pretty darn good bang for your buck. I've seen them online as cheap as $90

Yes, I did a few months back. I bought it because of the price and the extras that were on it. It really wasn't what I wanted so I sold it and got what I should have in the first place.

Was this an Ebay purchase by chance? Watched one go for a good price that was new in box in the last week. I passed on a used one that was $300 buy it now because I didn't have the extra funds at the time. Turns out I could of made it work and now I'm kicking myself over it.
