You can't tell because of the rods but it says PING across the back glass. It's a rack used to display a set of clubs in a pro shop. A friend of mine gave it to me when they got new displays at his course. Just happens to work perfectly for 7 combos. Now I need to find a second.

Well after some buying and selling my starting lineup is basically complete. I'd like to sell one of the PX68's and try the new Alphas SV. If there is a flipping hook at the end of my line it's connected with a snell knot.

The lightest I've thrown on my Tatula was a weightless zoom fluke with hook. Though when you actually weigh it out on a scale it's not actually what I would consider a 'light' bait. It's 1/4oz and I haven't found a reel that won't throw a 1/4oz bait. How far depends on other things such as rod and line choice. Hope this helps.

I couldn't get bit on a weightless t rigged senko the other day but then I switched to a Mustad hook, and it was like I flipped a light switch.

It's not a bad reel. I owned 2 and sold them off. They are still in use. There is a random issue that I've heard of from a few people and experienced myself. You press the thumb bar down but something doesn't actually disengage the spool. It was a sporadic issue with mine. I know you didn't mention the Tatula but I'd take a good look at it. It can be had for about $90 and is way better than a lexa.

I only own 1 ml casting rod so my experience is very limited in that department. However it's a great rod. Bought it on some recommendations from the BR community. Phenix Recon 713

Everyone is going to have their own preferences on what brand and size to use. I use Gamakatsu because I can pick them up at Walmart and they have never let me down. I like the finesse wide gap in 1/0 2/0 but I'll also use an EWG in 1/0 2/0 3/0

You really can't go wrong with that budget. Everyone is going to have their favorites. Try to get your hands on as many as you can and pick which one feels the best and offers the features you're looking for in a casting reel. Each company has some good choices. You have to pick one. A crawdad was my first boat and I regret selling it all the time. I added about a 2ft section of 1/2" marine plywood in front of each seat. I screwed it directly into the 3 rails that run the length of the boat. I could stand and fish up front while my buddy fished seated in the back. I wasn't uneasy while doing it either,and my balance isn't the greatest. If I was alone then I fished out of the back since I had to operate the trolling motor. It can be moved around with just one person and I could load it in the bed of my truck by myself. You can find aluminum jon boats in the same price range and add some flooring to those also. The crawdad is great for shallow rivers too. The plastic is pretty durable.

There are a lot of very lightweight production rods that will keep the weight of your combo down. However the balance may be off to you. I'm not sure what your preference is there. Look at some of the rods from Dobyns in the champion and extreme series.

I use #15 power pro braid with a #6-10 fluoro leader. Cover dictates what size leader.

I pull the skirt down and trim it evenly straight across. It's usually only about an 1/8"

My Megabass Zonda 68 showed up today. Paired it up with a Dx 704. Balances out great! Eying up a MB Diablo spec R for it though.
