- Endurance Vs. Micro Magic
I don't think anyone is saying that they're bad rods at all. Just that the endurance is a better choice of those two. I've fished a micro magic spinning rod and a white ice casting rod. No complaints with either.- Endurance Vs. Micro Magic

They only see the bottom of the bait and it's white. You can paint it like a tiger if you want.- Endurance Vs. Micro Magic
I have 2 Endurance 723's and they will not go anywhere. I'm really kicking myself in the butt for not grabbing another when TW had them for $118. Just to have incase something would ever happen to the ones I have now. Though @ $180 I'm not sure I'd pay that price for one. Check with thefishranger and see if maybe they still have some leftover. Cody is a good guy to do business with. There are a lot of good choices in the $100-180 range. Too many honestly. Check out the Tatula rods. It's a lot of rod for $100- Spooling Up
^^^ his way is pretty good but only if the braid you are using is close in size to what the spool holds for mono. They usually use #12 mono when talking about line capacity unless it's a reel with a shallow/finesse spool. You will just have to adjust the amount of backing +/- depending on the braid size you are spooling up with on your reel. 50ish yards of #12 mono backing and 60ish yards of #50 braid works really well. However if you are using something like #65 braid after you spool up the 50ish yards of mono backing you are not going to have the same amount on your spool as if using #50 because it's thicker. So you have to adjust the amount of backing you put on to get the same amount of braid. Same applies for thinner braid. If you spool up with #30 braid after the 50ish yards of mono backing you are going to have more than 60 yards because it's thinner. The long pita way would be to walk out the amount of braid you want on your reel. So walk off 200ft and spool that braid on your reel. Tie your mono to it and finish spooling up until it's where you want it. Tie the mono end to something and walk it all back off down to the spool. Cut and tie the braid to your spool and wind it back on. Now you will have 65 yards of braid and X amount of backing was needed to fill the spool. Once you spool up a few times you learn to just eyeball it.- What Triggers Your Tackle Itch
I totally will. It's pretty simple to me. We buy stuff because we tell ourselves that we need it. It just shows that we have no willpower. We have an addiction that's really no different from a drug addiction. We 'feel' bad if we don't get our fix. The ones who can resist and only buy what they need. They have the willpower the rest of us don't. I wish I could be like y'all.- Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
I wouldn't exactly call the 68 a finesse reel. The spool holds 120 yards of line. It was this or the ss sv. Same price so why not,right.- Swimbait Eaters!
Awesome day Bluebasser86 You can get them all day long for that price. I had 2 and they cost me $45 and $55. The bait has been around for quite some time now. Even the new release of the 175 can be had for $75-100.- Florida Bike Week

Ebay- What Triggers Your Tackle Itch
I trigger my tackle itch. I tell myself I need to buy stuff. The bait monkey is not real just like the Easter bunny. You are the monkey.- New Combo. What Line?
Braid with leader is what I'd go with. Braid does well in grass and even wood but it's not very abrasion resistant against rocks but fluoro is. Also when you get snagged and have to break off you'll only loose your leader. Fluoro also has great slack line sensitivity. So you'll get that advantage too when they hit it on the fall.- Reel Cleaning
You can use a thin wire fish hook to remove the seals. Then just throw them away. Soak in a degreaser or even dawn dish soap. Rinse them with water and sit out to dry.- Show off your Stuff
Newest toy- What Is This?
Yamamoto Dt Hula Grub I fish them on open jig heads or a jig head that has a weed guard. Cover dictates that choice.- Favorite 7'3" Mh All - Everything Casting Rod ?
^^^ the tip is rated as xf. I think all of the Endurance series are except the obvious ones. Yes, it has been replaced but the 723 is offered in the 3d max series. Supposed to be a slightly better blank.- Favorite 7'3" Mh All - Everything Casting Rod ?
Best value - For me it's a Powell Endurance 723 I have two of them for a reason. If I'm grabbing 1 setup to take this is the one for me. I've thrown everything on it. Balance with either a heavier or lighter reel is incredible. I have a Dobyns Champ 733 but I'm not going to say it's my favorite yet because I need to try a 734 first. It is a nice rod though.- Attaching Braid Backing?
I get 3 fill ups from a 200 yard spool of fluoro. 2 fill ups from a 150 yard spool of power pro. Sometimes 3 depending on what combo it is. I don't need more than 50 yards on a combo I use for throwing light plastics so I get 3. In short just do 50/50 and you'll be fine.- Shhhh, Bass Eat Rats...
You ordered it in Nov and it shipped Thurs. I ordered my morning dawn Mon and had it Wed. Doesn't exactly seem right to me. That's an idea but most people don't just buy 1 thing when they're on TW. I know I cant.- Compatible Reel Parts
You would have to pull up a schematic of your Abu reel and one of the Abu reel they offer parts for and then cross reference part numbers.- Punch Skirts
Get some Boss punch hubs and you can use any banded skirt on it.- Shhhh, Bass Eat Rats...
I'm not understanding that whole deal. I ordered mine from TW last Mon and it arrived Wed. There are people who ordered before they got the first batch in and those guys still don't have one. - Endurance Vs. Micro Magic
