Swimbait Setup
I own the 7'11 heavy okuma. An 4oz bait is where it starts to feel overloaded. 2-3 is the sweet spot on it. Great for 6" hudds or the 68 but the 8" Hudd is pushing it.

Shhhh, Bass Eat Rats...
You can tell as soon as you take it out of the box. Feels like you could scrape it off with your fingernail. Maybe using a spray clear would help it out a bit.

^^^ on their 'PROMOTIONAL' staff. Op I had the Rosewood 7' mh worm/jig rod. Not what I'd expect out of a $190 rod. There are much better choices out there. Some @ $100

Daiwa Lexa 100 Vs Lew's Tournament Mg Casting
They're both pretty much equal. I've owned both models and one wasn't any better than the other. Pick the one that feels the best to you in your hand and if possible mount them on your rod to see which one balances out better.

Shhhh, Bass Eat Rats...
That's correct. The mouse is no different than a frog to me. You can throw it on just about any combo within reason. The spro rat is 2.5oz and should be thrown on a swimbait combo made for heavy baits.

Lets Hear All The Favorites For Rods And Reels!
I admire your enthusiasm but I doubt you'll accomplish much. Even if it was to become a sticky hardly anyone looks at those first. They just post "best $100 rod" or what have you. I'll play along for sake of the thread. Rods for under 150$(+/-)? Dobyns champion Powell Endurance Phenix Recon Reels for under 150$(+/-)? Daiwa tatula Lews tournament pro Rods for 200-330$(+/-)? Dobyns champion Dobyns dx Reels for 200-330$(+/-)? Px68 Pxr Steez Ss sv Zonda 68 Rods for 350$+? Don't own any but if I bought one it would be a Megabass more than likely. Reels for 350$+? Mostly the same as $200-330 class but it would be paying retail prices. A few Megabass and Steez variants would be in this class.

I was more refering to the mono and not the braid. I did kinda the same thing once on Stren fluorocast. Bought 4 spools for $2ea but it turned out not to be good line. At least for me anyhow. I think it's hard to make bad braid though.

Tackle Organization
I hit up the surplus store tonight on the way home from work. 2x6 sheet of pegboard and 10 hooks ran me $12. Cut it to size and screwed it to the side of my shelves. Got some plastics out of a milk crate on the floor. I needed to crate to make a lid for the crate I made for my kayak. Looks a little better this way too.

Infestation!
Okuma guide select 7'11 heavy will do good with baits up to about 4oz. After that go with the XH

It is tackle. You don't buy reels at bed bath and beyond.

Finesse Rod
You had a 50/50 shot and happened to assume correctly. I own 1 spinning rod and it's only used for skipping under docks when fishing tournaments. Fun fishing I'll use casting gear since I'm not too worried if I have to pick out a Professional overrun' now and then. There are quite a few people who don't use spinning gear for finesse presentations. OP check out the Fenwick lineup. Should be one in the elite tech series to suite your needs.

Micro Guides And Leaders?
There are other factors as to why people prefer a leader over straight braid.

Spring Time Fishing
The same baits will get bit 365 days a year. You change the presentation. Not the bait.

Downfall to the mini is it only has 1 hook. Still a decent bait.
