Gardens are awesome. I'm hoping to build a couple new beds here pretty quick. Since moving to Tenn from Oregon it has been really different. I try and do the organic route. Really wanted some japanese egg plants and some others but got the pancreatitus so couldn't watch garden too well so it got rabbitized and dried out. This year hope to do better...will see if health lets me out. Enjoy

No music...why!!! I go to get away from "most of the sounds". Early morning and late eve's my favorite. Used to fish lake Powell many years ago and if you want quiet that is the lake. You will hear nothing....I mean nothing when you are back in those canyons. It's almost erie. Once in awhile there was a little bird that would make this cool noise but not often. Beautiful place.

Since last july I've been in and out of doctors offices a bunch. Now the last few days have fought a 103 temp. I am very greatfull for all of Gods gifts but am sure looking forward to some up time longer than a half a day. Tight Lines

I love liver an onions...especially venison liver when soaked in milk for a couple hours. Calamari...awesome. Head cheese...not to bad. Been trying to think of something disgusting for awhile now and it's tuff. Guess if it looks bad and smells bad it ain't goin in this temple. Now when I had my acute pancreatitus...nothing....I mean nothing looked or smelled good.

Lived there for sixty years before moving to Tennessee. The smallie fishing on the Columbia above Bonneville is awesome and world class. But you can't let the wind bother you. There are some smaller coastal lakes and a few valley lakes but nothing bigger than 3000 acres. Washington too has some good waters and they are a bit bigger. Oregon and Washington are salmon, steelhead, and trout waters and they have "unique" feelings about their slime rockets. A political mess....bass is trash mentality. Sorry not so much wine and roses but I did love love love the Columbia. They hadn't destroyed it to bad before I left. Good Luck

Truly every day on the water is a gift. An adventure to learn from. Have had both slow and awesome days after bad weather. But they always beat days at work or mowing the yard.

What gets me is those stories of people who float tube and fish small boats around the swamps. Dang...gators, snakes oh my!!!

Good Point. I lost my full interest in BASS when they took the AM's out of the back of boats. Sorry...old fashioned ... still believe it's the average joe who pays their bills. Any pro who whinned about AM catching his fish just didn't quite make it with me. There's things that could of have been done....three fish limits etc. Oh well...I'm old and set in ways. Tight LInes

Well looks like I'll be the first one to put Lamiglas. Many years ago I used G-Loomis which Loomis and Lami are right accross the freeway from each other. Have had great luck and service with these rods. Not to mention they have caught the tar outa a bunch of fish. Tight Lines

I like to look at the lake or body of water as a new canvas that our good Lord has given us to look at for the day. It can be so full of peace and stress relief. Even if we loose a few it's not like the hassel of the fast lane we all love to get away from. I go fishing to catch fish too...if I just went to look I might be a painter but I enjoy the thrill of the catch and they come in all shapes and sizes. Tight Lines

My heart and prayers are with you. Again every day is a gift we so often take for granted. My daughter has fought cancer for over seven years and hasn't really ever had a life as we know it. My dad had dementia and that was soooooo sad to watch. Ended up never knowing us. Enjoy today....look forward to tomorrow

We've only lived here bout three years but what I know bout that area you will have no problem entertaining the family. It's geared for the tourist. As far as fishing that time of year...not sure. Fly fishing for trout is big I understand and they stock it and as fas as bass in August you do have Douglas but I understand it fish's deep. There are some smallies in the rivers too close by so you might want to pack a set of waders and try that. Sorry couldn't be more help

I like to go fishing for the action to be sure. Have had some onezy...twozy days and their not fun. Have had some hundred fish days and their awesome (no brainers ya might say) But to go out and catch a limit or two makes me feel like I done good. To do this in a large tourney is awesome...especially if I consistant.

Well we have a major cold front going through today and I'm pretty sure that it's pushed a lot of bass out deeper. How many days of sunshine and warmth do you think it will take to start bringing them up again. I know earlier this year in Dec and Jan fish were up even as the water dropped in temp but now it's like when it takes a dip they run. Tight Lines

Myself it's Merrell's when it's cool or maybe Danners. Summer it's barefoot rain or shine.

Hmmm..some dogwoods are bloomin here in east tenn and water temp is 50. Maybe some smallies are movin up...but then this weather has been so inconsistant here.

Simple goals. 1. Hope and pray less hospital time this year. (pain included) 2. Relax and smell the roses and enjoy Gods gifts 3. Hopefully get a little better at figuring out the fish

January was a great month....Feb was down due to surgery...March is starting kind of slow even though the water is 50 now. Oh well....always a learning curve. Glad to get out.

Interesting subject. I have been chasing bass long enough to have caught fish on everything and basically own everything it's just hard to find time to use it all. Since I moved to the south I'm finding I have to get more confidence in some lures I threw very little out west but I'm looking forward to the adventure. For instance chatter baits, A-Rigs, carolina rigs....I need to throw these more as they weren't in the boat back home. My favorite is to just have two or three rods on deck....out here I seem to want more!!
