  1. I have used whats called a duo lock snap for many years and have had great success. Just use for cranks. Everything else is tied direct. Tight Lines
  2. We used a large towell to cover our heads and the unit. Helped a lot.
  3. My wife gave me a FishTV about four years ago and due to various reasons have not used it untill yesterday. OH My Gosh...it was awesome. I had someone with me who had never used one and it was an eye opener for him also. I mainly wanted to use it to campare what I saw on my Lowrance with what was on the TV. I had about three places I wanted to look as fishing was the priority. Water temp was 38 to 41. Pulled up on first place and caught a couple small fish and then dropped the TV. There were bass everywhere and some good looking ones too. So on to second place and it was the same story. Caught a couple keeps and dropped camera and saw how many bass were down there that weren't hundry!! The last place we looked was rediculas. No catching and fish everywhere. Stopped one other place on way back in and saw something on grapgh so partner dropped the unit down and he said there was a school of bass parading by camera. It definitly takes a lot of time to use one of these things but it is soooo fun. It also proved that we $!@# at catching them all. Oh...depths we were looking were from 12 to 30 and in some places looked like we could see eight or ten feet with TV. Tight Lines
  4. Agree with Kicker...pain to melt. Got some sheet lead a number of years ago and luckly have not had to get any more. It's pure and does the job. Sometimes too soft a lead I believe will dent easier around rock on some jig heads thus causing paint to chip easier but most jig heads life span is pretty short around rock. Good luck
  5. It's a Super Bowl. Both teams with the best record on a neutral field....I like it. Helps eliminate gray areas on who's the best. Outside.....it's where football started and its cool to brave the elements and let the best team win. They gotta bring their A-Game with bad weather...bad weather cause's turnovers...teams have to adjust and come back. Both these teams are outdoor teams so should be a good game. Go Seahawks
  6. Congrats
  7. Have used Shimano oil and grease for years.....awesome. Clean is good
  8. Have owned Shimano for years. Was given a Stella for a gift and it has been awesome for year after year. It's both light and smooth. Have the older model Curado's and Chronarchs and they are still working smooth and have no need for new ones. Also have several other models and I liked them all. Clean and oil they're good for another year. Tight Lines
  9. YOU SHUDDA BEEN HERE YESTERDAY!!!!
  10. I can hardly wait for all the reasons why Seattle beats Denver.
  11. I pour the cylinder and prefer over ball. Get hung up far less than round in rock. Even better is using what they call a slinkie (out west) they don't sink as fast and kinda look like a ugly worm so bass sometimes hit em. But they are awesome around rock.
  12. Looks like Sunday will be fishing a local tourney to benefit a young girl who is having some medical difficultys. So hope the weather is at least in the fourtys!! Then will warm up on couch to watch the game. Tight Lines
  13. LMB's tasted like mud to me when I was young so 40 years later I still don't eat em and release all. Smallmouths have never been on a plate for me and spot's out of Lake Shasta I've eaten once and thought they were very good. Tight Lines
  14. Gosh...didn't realize it was at 6:30. Well if the kids come over I'll put something on the BBQ and if not may have to go fishing first. May go to church sat night if weather looks like it might warm a bit on Sunday. Tight Lines
  15. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers....this has been a pretty good week. Both the gall stone and kidney docs say I'm in the clear for awhile. No Knives! Even the dentist came out pretty good...didn't have to pull the tooth...so that is awesome too. Now I wait for six more weeks and see what the pancreas looks like and if the cists have gone down they will operate on my two hernias. Ohhhhh I want these babys fixed. Also would really like the cists gone to as they affect a lot of stuff. Again thankyou all
  16. Curious how many if given the chance (weather permitting this time of year) would go fishing instead of watching the game. I guess you could record game and hope no-one would tell you the outcome so you could go home afterwards and watch the recording. Personally I'm a Hawks fan and have been for years and would love to watch the game but given the chance would have to go fishing and then watch recording. I've had to many days these last six months in a chair or on a couch...besides I love the floor show in the great outdoors just a tad better. (not to mention the fact fishings been great around here lately too. Tight Lines P.S. Although if the wife let me go Sat and Mon I could be talked into staying home during the day!
  17. Still wanting to believe if both teams bring their A-game Seattle will do it. Aweome defense and if Wilson is moving it could be good.
  18. Monday results...looks like the gall bladder is doing what it's suppossed to be doing. Whoooohooooo. Have to go back in six weeks for another look see but looking good. Asked him again does this acute pancreatitus stuff usually last this long and he says...sometimes much longer and worse! Said he's not going to touch the double hernia untill the cists go down so will be waiting on that one. Tight Lines all
  19. Once when fishing the Columbia river the wind came up the gorge while they were pushing a lot of current. Waves were so tall we had to hit them at an angle and surf down other side. We got a bit wet and cold. Was a bit spooky. Tight Lines
  20. Have started wearing a PFD when by myself now....took 40 years!!! Not so much when with someone. Glad your ok.....You got a gift from above.
  21. Saw this on a food channel for brussel sprouts and its awesome. Supposably they have a gas in them and this gets rid of it. Kind of a slow process but awesome. Peel off outer bad leaves if any and then just peel off all the leaves and put in a bowl or containter. When you've got the amount of leaves you want you saute in pan with garlic, maybe a little pepper flakes and salt. At the end if you want a sweet touch add a little brown suger. AWESOME
  22. Oh my.....two more weeks of talk. It's great..it's what the sport promotes. This will be a great NW rivalry come to battle. Good job Seattle and thanks for coming Denver.
  23. The only thing I could add to all the good advice is that I like to use kevlar for tying. I just hate the accidental breaks in the middle of things. Have tied for years and agree with above advice. Have fun.
