  1. Pretty much have to get online but I have had great success with Silver Thread flur. Have used for many years.
  2. Well there's good news and gray news. Good news is I've got a couple doctors that just don't want to jump in and cut me up. I do have to go in for gall bladder tests next week and may have to get that out if it doesn't check out. If this doesn't work they may look at the pancreas (which started all this) and then the story gets ugly. So anyhow thats what we know now. Thank you all for prayers and will let ya know.
  3. Luck is when your fighting that good un and there's no line grabbing structure with mussels on it between fish and the boat
  4. Felt kind of funny in chest yesterday and ended up in ER last night till five this morning!! The pain in chest and stomach area was amazing. Hurt so bad was shaking. Doc said everything still ok.(liver, kidneys etc)..it's just all the extra fluids pushing from the cist that are causing the problems. Looking forward to see when they can drain it now!!!
  5. Have had some really fun days with the floating fly and it's fund to watch the bobber. But now I use eight# braid with an eight or six pound fluro leader with a 1/16 oz jig and it seems to really work well casted. And this bait will almost suspend when moved slowly. Tight Lines
  6. Sorry bout this but I like the fact there are less anglers on the water by a long shot and I find the fishing great for the most part. Just sayin!
  7. So sad.....so many of us think (or don't) we're invinceable.
  8. Its been kind of amazing. Docs seemed in a hurry (and they may still be) As it took them some time to get back. Anyway I get a message to call the surgeon and so I go in Thursday early to talk. I'm hoping I can get the double hernia and the cist all taken care of at once. This yoyo of pain/nopain everyday getting old. I want to get back into shape. I know there's lots of people much worse and my prayers are out to them too. Tight Lines all
  9. Exercise is good....
  10. Would rather be fishing!!!! Not a height person.
  11. Believe it's five here this morning. Supposed to get in the fourtys wed and thurs. So glad...going to go fishing. Five is a bit chilly for this ol man.
  12. We had nine red male cardinals at the feeder this afternoon. A record for us.
  13. Go Go Go Seattle. Hope I'm fishing Saturday but would also like to watch game. Weather will tell!!
  14. Ramps a bit icy today...hope to get out wed. Will be cold but those fish gotta eat!
  15. Me and the wife live in Solway..just outside Knoxville. Great neighbors, great fishing (all year)(winter my favorite) Do not want to move back to Oregon!!
  16. We have two feeders also and have some of the fattest doves in the area. All they get is sunflower seeds as don't want to get fancy. Down side was the skunks and racoons. Water ballons have kept them away!!
  17. Again many thanks. Well me and a friend had an awesome day on the water today chasing largemouth. But I had to apologize to him once as I could tell my mind was in other places even though fishin was good. I was just really quiet and maybe said a couple words. (yup...apologized to the man upstairs too). Anyway one more day on the water before I get to talk to docs.
  18. Pair of fingerless with a large handwarmer in each front pocket.
  19. I use the bright yellow on spinning with a fluro leader. So I can see the line better. Heavy stuff use green.
  20. Just HOPING I don't have the two plus months of downtime again. Thank you all
  21. Right now my attitude is a bit @!$%. Found out the ol cist on pancreas is back at it an growing and could cause problems. Soooo got a call and went back to doc for more blood donations and should hear by monday when I go for surgery. Going to ask if they can fix the double hernia I've developed too!! But they know bout this but were waiting. Anyway...thanks for listening and if ya have time please lift it up....I'm running a about a quart low right now. Going to fish sat and sunday to not think about it. Would go monday too if it wasn't going to snow. Tight Lines
  22. I ususally don't change untill I have a tourney or hook can't be sharpened. Fun fishing isn't quite as serious.
  23. Ive done that to go fishin!! Glad was safe trip
  24. My grandma used to make head cheese and I can remember seeing that pig head sticking out of the ol big pot she used to cook in. I t was actually good stuff and full of meat. Haven't tried it since....since the stuff I've seen in stores looks like just jelly. Christmas used to be head cheese, luttafisk, kippered salmon, and this flat bread that was awesome.
  25. Don't get me wrong...I'm a tackle junkie and can remember everytime we headed south from Oregon for a tourney we had to stop by Phils Props in Redding and drop some cash and then wonder why we spent so much. I remember my first year here in Tenn that the lil shad rap and a pony head caught me a lot of fish. Now I'm trying different baits and it's getting better and better. Don't plan on moving so may have to get rid of some hardbaits. (So I can get some new colors and styles in the ol boat) I used to love hot lips for instance and have a ton of originals...but I can't catch Pooh on em here. Tight Lines
