  1. Hmmmmmm....could affect the power bait sales in area!!
  2. Thanks for update....hope to fish this lake one more time....beautiful.
  3. Lifting you up....dang. Thinking of fishing is good....very good. All that down time sitting in a chair sucks.....I Knowwwwwwww. Seeing you live up north doesn't help matters much.....all the best to you down the road.
  4. Have fished mostly with a guy named Steve...lives up near Norris now but comes down. Not familiar with initials. If ya see me I'll be in my Vexus....hopefully. Can't see for pooh and so I really focus or other guy drives...depends on day. Will be out Thursday in my boat...if your out swing over and say HI.
  5. I just feel warmer reading you all's posts.....had my radiation today too and wanted to go fishing but wife said ....NO... due to the cold rainy weather.....soooo booked a day with my good friend to educate some more whiteys on Thursday....
  6. I usually don't get out till after ten. Seems with this chemo/rad stuff my head takes a bit longer to settle. So it's been afternoons....was going to try and hitch a ride today but wife talked me out of it. Lake would have been awesome.
  7. This is truly an interesting one....would have to agree with the above...I have had some amazing days with sun and "no wind" ....why don't know. But the "do know" part of the equation is I always have one on the deck along with a crank and a worm and a jig...maybe a topwater. They are all going to be thrown and hopefully one or more will unlock the beasts!!!
  8. If your up in the middle of the lake area...sorry names are bad right now....there's a huge bend as your running down lake and it goes to the left. There is a very large marina on the left...."Love this area across from marina" Lots of all kinds of water. As you make the bend on the downstream side look up to the cliffs on the right...there is a large face in the cliffs that is really cool....can fish good here too!!! Enjoy your trip....
  9. It's interesting your take on sonar....a LOT of people with sonar ..... suck....and many don't. All fishing takes a commitment to learn....some good info above. This time of year you can't go wrong with points....work shallow to deep....all points have fish....not likely....just as all bathtubs don't have purty people in them. But.....it is likely. The pure form of bass fishing may be a wooden john boat....and a cane pole with a jig.... Tight lines
  10. Almost seventy and I too have had the back thing.... Was the worst after pancreatitis and being hunched up in pain for so long and moving wrong. Went to good....no great Physical Therapist and after going a bunch of visits and a bunch of exercise I didn't want to do life is good.....very good...(as far as feeling body wise) I hope you find someone that helps...
  11. This weather has been crazy warm this winter. Water temps still in the mid fifty's....don't even have to wear a coat unless your in the shade or the wind is blowing....sunshine.....WOW. Anyway....was blessed to fish with my son for a few hours yesterday along with my neighbor who since moving here about ten years ago we have tried to link up. He has three girls and if anyone has a full schedule it's him. I'm always kind of nervous taking someone new....do it quit a bit but always apprehensive....one of the reasons I usually meet people at the ramp....so many times I hear...well.....when we going in...wife wants me to do some stuff......#@!&. One and Done Anyway....was awesome....told him we should hook around thirty or forty..conditions are kind of tough for the Hill. Dropping water....clear sky's...water clearing. We got lucky and near darkness we put a half dozen keeper whites in his bag for dinner. Said he'd never had them so at last minute we got him dinner....later he said were delicious!! May have to try.... So anyway...Praise God for another day on the water and now it's a week of Doc visit's....adventures in the making!!! Tight Lines all.....
  12. Your story is awesome....I've had a couple things that were technically supposed to take me out but now the enemy is trying cancer. All I know is this will be a new adventure and I ain't going nowhere till the good Lord takes me by the hand................
  13. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.........not much of a sports person but even I know this could be a fire starter!!!!!!
  14. That's awesome....thanks. But what......No Kneepads
  15. But if your invisible ...people will run over you when they see all the fish jumping or being tossed off to the side un naturally!!!!
  16. I don't see them on my little lake much anymore....guess they quit planting them and the muskie I heard....sadness....
  17. Bout all I can say is wow....this new road is a bit rougher. You can feel the swelling along with some aches. Med's help a bit but....not sure how to put into words...other than....five more weeks or so as long as body can take it and I hope it can. Mama and I are going to golf nine today just to get her out...she has been so so good being my little nurse and uber driver. My heart goes out this morning to all those people who go through this...OMG....while sitting in line for your turn there are not many smily faces I can tell ya and to magnify this across our world....gosh. I try to say good morning and make light of something as we are all fighting .....nice to put a smile...even for a second on someones face. Don't want to be a Debbie Downer....I'm ever so thankful for this day...and thankful that I know who's in charge and he loves me and you all. Tight Lines...and catch a dink or a big one......
  18. Well...this will be day two of radiation and chemo. Should be interesting as I've heard so many story's of what if's and whats going to happen. Left side of head doesn't seem as swollen this morning so that is a plus. I have a great nurse who gets me all set up in the mask....has a personality and can joke around instead of head bowed and lets get this done. Believe this will go on for about five weeks... Hoping to make a fishing report Sunday...kind of hoping weather is windy and cold...will keep a lot of people off the lake. If not....will share the water...:) Tight Lines all
  19. I must need my second cup of coffee.....but it just seems to boil down to we get cranky when everyone doesn't agree with what we like or don't like.... Darn.....guess I'll go tell the neighbor to only mow his lawn on Tuesdays due to what Fred says down in Florida. Then I'll tell Sue girls can't enjoy watching fishing shows cause guys will be seen catching little fish. Hmmmmm......just a thought. And guess I'm in the wrong cause I LOVE it all....and enjoy an respect what you like as long as it's legal and respecting.
  20. Friend said it had been upgraded three times!?!? Could not find anything again this morning...oh well....gotta go fishing to do my research. Oh...well....today starts the new adventure...chemo/radiation....we will see how much fishing.
  21. Well I looked....hmmmm....I know I tried it a numger of years ago and I thought it !@#$'d......this fished good....is it new....don't think so...but oh well....older I get more things could be new!! Tight Lines
  22. It was nano.....just going by what he said....going to look deeper...but it fished well.
  23. Well .... heads kind of foggy after spending a day on the water....can tell left side is swollen but doesn't hurt...spelling may suffer but you all understand. Beautiful cold clear and sunny day....fish were deep but still around fifteen feet. Chased whites but caught a couple nice crappie. Was able to send buddy home with a couple limits of pound and a half to three pound fish. Water temps were low fifty's with a good wind....water was also off color..chartreuse worked well until around noon and then had to go dark colors to get them to commit well. I had mentioned I was going to try the newer Berkly 12 pound braided line...well fished it all day....no wind knots....did not break off on leader tie...but at end of day gave a tug and it broke!! Note to self...check more often..even when having fun. Cast's really well....believe it's a keeper....but good Lord willing I believe more research is needed.....Lots. Tight Lines
