  1. Taking one day at a time and Prayers....oh gosh...Prayers Oh...was just thinking.....I'm still buying fishing tackle so that part of my brain is still kinda working.
  2. I do....I did....and it's pooh
  3. Love fishing the ol jerkbaits......but....do you all catch them lets say after ten during the winter much. Seems to me or maybe it's where I fish but it's an awesome morning bait but then it just dies....so I move on to other stuff. Was reading all your posts and this thought came up....thanks
  4. Oh....wow. Well ... since we lost our daughter to cancer I quit the hot dog cart and have/had semi retired. Was working at the golf coarse part time and life was good. Well for about a week or so the middle part of September I noticed I was walking into things on the right side....some of them rather sudden and painful...So I'm working at the coarse late September and Boom....I ran golf cart into another parked golf cart....and said to myself....!@#$ ...something is going on. Called wife and said I need a ride home...something is going on. Called Doc...they got me into an eye doc...this eye doc sent me to his big brother eye doc and this one sent me to his big brothers ...big brother....(saying this as I can remember all the fancy titles) So the last one says you have cancer in your brain....wow...game changer and mood enhancer begins. Within the next couple days I go get brain scans....believe CT...and was diagnosed with stage 4 Glibastoma. And it has been a ride since then....lots of cute nurses, poking and prodding, praying and seeing how wonderful people are. All I know now is I'm still on the good Lords entertainment committee and loving life a little more. You will be doing a lot of thinking....try to stay positive...it really really helps. Sounds like you could doge a bullet...sure hope so....will be praying. I like to say...In God I Trust....others pay cash. Stay strong.
  5. Have lifted you up....it's a rough road to be sure. Walking it myself. Have a 2016 Ford...black...truck of my dreams I bought last summer with a new six month old Vexus in garage. I too am not allowed to drive....**** happens fast....one day was working, fishing, driving....next week had a brain sample done and now it's lots of new adventures. Wish you all the strength and healing possible. May God bless.
  6. I saw on one of the ranger shows a rattle snake in maine.....was shocked....it/was it true
  7. Will be fun to watch family and friends get worked up....hope I get a fishing invite!!!
  8. Wow .... keep it up you all. Stacked bricks for hour and half....did some hill walking. Went in for second eval of the chemo/rad....doc was a princess...said I'm in top ten percent for an old fart going through this stuff. Kinda makes me feel good....tired....but good. Not a chair person....maybe in ten years when I am lucky enough to turn eighty....NOT.
  9. Wow.......just wow. Truly a Christmas present from above!!
  10. I had mentioned awhile back about a friend giving me so "nano fill". Supposedly revised edition to the third power. Thanks I said....and put it on two rods. Those two rods have took a dump.......Now I don't get out a lot now but....@!#$....yesterday .... again.....using just the straight line....as nano doesn't like my knot to leader very much and I ain't changing ....those two rods just didn't cut it...might as well not have a lure on em for the bites I got.....leader rods....goood.....straight nano......bad. I know it should have worked in the clearish off color.....but no....so....guess what.....back to PP and Suffix......come to papa....sheeeesh. End of review.....done....over....and no more changes.....
  11. Shouldn't take too long to figure where the rod racks go!!! Day after has been a father/son day for awhile at Norris.....mmmmmmm (wasn't supposed to merge)
  12. Many many many years ago when I fished BASS in California I was teamed up with Kota Kiramunga (spelled wrong I'm sure). We were fishing deep for spots....up to seventy feet or so if memory serves. We....he murdered them for the first half day. Just flat had my butt spanked...like three to one. Anyway...this was during the time about when this technique had crossed the ocean to some degree. I finally just stood still and watched....was awesome....he would change colors depending on area, only move the slack in the line and "pay attention to the slightest movement". Greatest "drop shot" lesson I ever had. And spanking. We both weighed in limits...mine was harder earned!!! Since it was a three day the next day I gave the same lesson to my partner..(was draw tourney) He was slowww learner. Caught so many fish on Shasta that fingers were ever so tender..... Smiles.......
  13. Don't get me wrong....I to love the smallies.....love. Coming from the Colombia River country I was spoiled on river smallies....hundred fish days were sometimes the norm. Now I'm leaning toward fishing places have heard amazing stories about and fairly close. Love this land out east and am thinking of Pickwick for desert if son can swing it. I kinda have more time...but short time. He has three awesome kinds a beautiful wife and a fairly new job that is just starting to blossom. I say I don't like to impose or cause bumps....(yes....I get (@!#$) for this....but....I grew em good....set em free and have no regrets. Want him to have a fond memory trip to remember the ol fart head. Who knows....may get in another one....yes.
  14. Putting together a bucket list you might say for when the chemo/rad is done...was told to get er done by Docs.....so anyway planning on hitting Lanier this spring for two or three days and was told I may want to stop by Carter's Lake also....last lake will probably be Chic on way home for the day....was thinking of Pickwick but just may be too much time away for son. Hope to hit road in in Feb....
  15. Or walk.....good luck
  16. Have a June one too.....47 Congratulations Wasn't supposed to merge...this is your day....have fun
  17. Merry Christmas to you....26 here and supposedly warming to low 40's....I got a boat ride and am gone gone gone.....whoooohoooooo. Although not heading out till after radiation so will be in thirty's or low forty's....that's better.
  18. Well since it is a "wish" list....I would wish for healing for all those on this site who need healing of some sort or for family members with the same need. I would wish for tight lines and fishing time for those single parents or for those who can't get around much maybe a drive from a friend to a lake. I wish you all the desire's of your heart. MERRY CHRISTMAS......May God Bless
  19. Graph is your friend.....spots can be very very color selective too...different colors can be better different lakes....I would go through at least a half doz colors...and for that clear water I'm sure your using light line.
  20. I have my raingear hanging by the boat or laying across and put in the day I fish. I don't care for the "off smell" that it can get. I do wash it too....it just seems to pick up a smell....probably me!!! But I do have a compartment for rain gear and all extra's....
  21. Some Doc's have been know to fly in formation and head south during winter!!!
  22. Grandma always said if ya can't say nothing nice.........gosh.....if I had a dollar for every time I saw this
