Done for the Year.

Unfortunately I am done fishing for the year. I go in next week to have knee replacement surgery. If all goes well with this one the doctor said he would do the other one in about 6 weeks. I just hope it doesn't take me out of the fishing game permanently. You all have fun, enjoy your fishing and catch some for me.

Do what the Doc tells you for recovery...if there's exercises - do them diligently. I've known people who've gotten 'new knees' that after recovery, went right back to jogging and one even ran a marathon. It's all down to the Doc's skill and your mental 'toughness'.

Good luck and good thoughts coming your way.

Good luck, and get well soon!

Good luck..hang in there and you'll be back out before you know it.

Good luck!  I suspect your recovery will be MUCH shorter than you expect.

I see bionic anglers on the water all the time. Stay on schedule and you'll be hauling in the hawgs come spring. Best wishes!

Good Luck to you Sir.

Hope your procedure(s) and subsequent recoveries go exactly as planned or Better !

I know I have a tough road ahead. I believe they will send a physical therapist to the house for a while then I will have to go to a physical therapy center a few times a week. I have been told they are a lot of things I will have to learn different ways of doing them. Thank you to all of you for the well wishes.

My Nephew recently had both done, one month apart.  He swears that he has knees that are better than the originals when they were working at their best. Everyone I know who has it done swears by it. So, I think you'll be alright. Just do those exercises they want you to do so you'll have the range and flexibility back.

Best of wishes....hope you can follow doc's instructions.

Best of luck with the surgeries and you'll be feeling good as new before you know it. As has been said, as long as you push yourself with your stretching to get your range of motion back and strengthening to get your quads back you'll be ready for as much fishing as you'd like to do this spring.

Good luck with your surgery & rehab. Work your hardest to get your range of motion back during rehab & you will be fishing like a new man shortly.

Medical tech is amazing these days. Still wishing you a full and speedy recovery.

My wife had both knees done, six weeks apart. She still out fishes me.

Hope it goes well and you are back on your feet soon.

Finally felt like getting back on here to aggravate everyone. Had my first knee replacement surgery near the end of September. Had the second one done the day before Thanksgiving. Still waiting for the pain to completely go away but it will happen eventually. Now I get to go through my second round of physical therapy and so far they are happy with the progress I have made so far.

Don't hold your breath waiting on me to take dancing lessons. I may be crazy but I'm not that crazy.

I probably won't be going fishing till sometime in March or April. I still have to start outpatient physical therapy maybe some time next week for a few weeks. I am not much on going out in the winter and freezing just to catch a fish. Hope all is improving for you and your health issues.

Meaning....I'm ready to be outside Postman style....rain, sleet, snow, wind and sun....love it all.  Some conditions the fish bite better and people stay home....all good....just have never been one to look out windows much.

Get better very soon.
