  1. Many statements above are so sad but true....but upon thinking about it I can find lots of #@!$ on human behavior in many sports or activities. Our make up just seems to make a lot of people me ... me .... me stereotypes. Yes...golfing can be awesome...but when you have to wait and wait and wait for that person to find his "must be" hundred dollar ball and not let you go through it can be sad. (to name just one). Deep Breath..... Thankfully the good seems to outweigh the bad....I would hope this trend continues.
  2. Daaaaaannnnnnnnnng..........awesome. Follow your dreams.

An interesting place too is your local boat ramp on a busy weekend. Different kind of entertainment but can be shocking and head shaking too.
  4. Nice....enjoy It's a great lake....fun in the fall and has less people too. Isolated wood....trestles....crankbaits and jigs. Docks with the grape slider.....oh my.

    Oh.....My
  6. Fished a BFL on Chick a number of years ago when I first moved to Tennessee to kind of check out the water as I was new here. Thought being a non boater may be interesting.......NOT. Icing on the cake this day was when the boater said he had left his two little kids back in the motel by themselves...did I mention he was late and an jerk.
  7. Neat place....remember camping there many years ago while prefishing for a state team tourney. You'd wake up in the morning hearing the burro's sounding off at each other....
  8. Sorry for your loss..... My dad was also a good good man. He's been gone a number of years and was painful to see him go through dementia. I remember him saying a number of times it's just good to be out here. (he wasn't a very good fisherman) But he truly enjoyed getting away from all the honey do's.
  9. Must be lots of fish around...that guy doesn't look like he's missed many meals!!
  10. We all have holes where the money goes.....some .....not so good.....some not so bad. I mean....this is why we work and save to have our hobby's and pursuits. Fresh air....peace of mind...nature....a big tug.....hmmmm....not a bad hobby.
  11. A couple years ago a pharmacist turned me on to a "pen" It's called "After Bite". You rub it on right after you get those dang bites. Worked so well for us that I now carry one in my golf bag, boat, and truck.....wife carry's one too. Amazing stuff. But....needs to be applied within the hour for best results. Good luck
  12. Many years ago I went to a local lake with friends perch fishing for filet's for the freezer. There was a ton of noise early that morning on the lake that sounded like a boat race. Went up to the marina's/campground office and asked what had gone on....oh....a bass tourney she says.....oh....I say. Went back to my buddies and said .... I gotta do that. During the many years that followed I joined a local bass club and traveled for the state team out west for BASS and it was truly an adventure for both me and my wife and opened so many doors to new adventures. One of the best was getting my pic on the front of a BASS magazine. It's a silhouette shot down in Florida of a sunrise and the cameraman came up to me at a later time and told me he had taken this shot and sent me a couple of the magazines. We had become friends and I believe he is long since retired. Still meeting people and am very thankful. So many memories...gosh. If it wasn't for BASS at that time I wouldn't have seen as many places that I had. I traveled all over the states from coast to coast. Those Wrangler Nationals were the best.
  13. Agree....such an amazing time of year for animal life moving...that crispness in the air....shorter days which when you get older means it's easier to fish from dawn to dark.....:).......and the list goes on.
  14. Fished with a friend for the first time on a Thursday nighter here as my other partner is in the moving process out of state. Was a bit breezy around five but just before dark it layed down. Fishing has been very tough but he said I'll be there. I warned him about the mosquito's coming out if the breeze died...he said...Oh...they don't bother me!! Long story short....I almost learned some new words!!! And I did learn to wait and put it on just before dark as you sweat so much during the day I think it just rinses it off. Anyway....lessons learned by all.
  15. Another 2 cents. I sent my Assassin in for replace/repair. They sent me a replacement . I did this just before the Holiday weekend and had the new one in my hands the day the post office came back to work. Awesome.....this is great service. Matter of fact I just ordered another of the same reel for my son. He doesn't need my hand me downs that are wearing out. Now I can have a clear conscience when we're team fishing.
  16. Loved that lake.....loved it
  17. So glad the holiday is over and now it's time for some quiet (er) time on the water. Tight Lines
  18. Oh......my. A verse comes to mind I've read in the big book....Don't worry about tomorrow as today has enough troubles of it's own. Hope the road gets better for you and your healing and strength come back quickly. Tight Lines
