I'll give you AR guys a follow up on some of my recent trips to Ouachita. The last two weeks I've thrown Rat'L'Traps in a white color or chrome and I caught a good sized striper, maybe between 12-15 lbs and some black bass and Kentucky bass. Everything I caught was near the Cedar Fouche area in coves or off islands. My uncle says on DeGray that he caught 7 or 8 on pumpkinseed Flukes. No go for me this Friday on Ouachita. 18mph winds in the forecast. Good luck to everyone!

Maybe Burns Park on the AR River. It is the closest to you. Maybe Lake Conway at the Camp Robinson WMA. Never been there so I don't know.

I love River Monsters! Sometimes late at night I'll catch the episodes with the captions of bonus info.

I love lipless cranks. I don't see how you can fish without them. You can cover a lot of water and get those reaction strikes.

My only experience is with a co-worker who runs a successful bass tournament in Ark. We were leisure fishing and he had white braid and was throwing a frog around reeds and grass around an island. He didn't seem too worried about the visisble and he's no noob.

It is indeed an awesome publication! It's quarterly so is there a new issue out? I read the last one. If so I'm heading out to get one!

My trip is this Sunday on Ouachita. If you flip over to my profile in my gallery is a striper I caught two weeks ago while bass fishing with a Rat'L'Trap.

It happens all the time but most of us are too embarrassed to let the rest of you know! I know it happens to me. The last two weeks I said "the heck with it!". I decided that I was going to throw a 1/2 oz Rat'L'Trap until I got bit. And I finally did. But I had a mindset of "if I can't catch them on this, I can't catch them at all." I made a ton of casts in relation to the few that I caught, but it broke a cold streak for me and gave me some confidence. Just one fish on the line fixes everything.

You guys are braver than me. 4', 5', 6' ??? I fish an aluminum v-hull though. Most of my fishing trips are scheduled around decent wind speeds. But I got caught once in some decent swells and I crawled it back safely. I figured a slow ride back was WAY better than drowning. However, I did not like it. I don't play with boats. I'm not buckled down and it's not a constant surface.

I was referring to some publications my local Game & Fish agency released. They built some "crappie condos" or artificial structures and placed a ton of them on my home lake 2 or 3 years ago. My logic was if a crappie will hang out there maybe a bass will too, or maybe the bass and stripers will cruise by for a crappie sandwich. The locations aren't secret and I thought maybe people are cynical because they feel since the info is public that these spots would be overfish or highly pressured.

I didn't even know it was a question. I thought the fishing Bible said you had to throw a Zara Spook? Seriously, I'll bomb a Zara Spook or Super Spook Jr all day on schooling fish. Doesn't get better than that in my book. $0.02

Alright. We can officially call this thread dead. I printed up a return form and talked to the fine folks at BassPro and I can mail it in and they will send me another Revo S. By no means will I bad mouth Abu because I know not everything is perfect. I don't think this is a pattern in their products, but simply an oddity. Thanks to everyone for your answers to my questions...and to some I didn't ask.

Jeez. Sounds like my nightmare post of my Revo S baitcaster from just a few days ago. And I'm an Abu guy. Who the heck knows? My problem defied all logical solutions.

No complaints here. Just received mine today. Shipped quicker than expected but it helps when the company is based and born in your home state. Mine is a 7' M and as expected has some backbone despite being medium. Best deal ever on a rod.

I'm about to take the time to stockpile GPS locations for some fish attractors, shelters and other manmade habitat that I found on the internet. It is a 40,000+ acre lake and anybody can find these points on the internet but I figure it's worth plugging into the graph. Have any of you guys done this or do you feel it is a waste of time?

Are you paying $5-6k cash for a car? If so, put that money down towards a new car in your payment range (perhaps a Buick Verano or GMC Terrain, both rated for 30+ hwy mpg). Factory warranty on GMC products is 36/36000 bumper to bumper and 60/100000 powertrain. Buick is 48/50000 and 72/70000. If you're worried about interest rate they have incentivized rates. If you're not paying cash forget everything I said and go through another tank of gas.
