  1. Yeah...looks very close to an Arky, which is my favorite. If you're dead set on the cobra, Tom's suggestion sounds like a plan.
  2. Big spinnerbaits

    Welcome to the board.
  4. Ok, finally got the boat out this evening and only had about 2 hours after work. I went to a little trolling motor only lake close to my house. My goal...catch my first drop shot fish. I went to the dam area where I usually do good on other stuff. I tried to force feed them a drop shot worm for about an hour and half before I gave up and picked up my jig rod. It took all of one cast to hook up with a nice one and backed it up with two more smaller ones. This is in the same spot I had wore out with the drop shot. So...either I don't know how to fish a drop shot (very likely) or you can't force feed bass something they don't want even if it is a drop shot. Looking forward to getting back out and trying again.
  5. You learn something new everyday...never had heard of a spring turnover.
  6. Buy McCoy and you don't need it.
  7. I'd go braid without a leader for your Alabama rig. Braid with a copolymer leader for the C-Rig. These are the only two applications I use braid for the most part.
  8. Maybe try some with and some without. I honestly have never seen much of a difference.

Kentucky Wisconsin Virginia Duke Kentucky is bringing it home!
  10. You didn't end up eating duck at a Chinese restaurant and getting sung to did you?
  11. McCoy CBF is the only copolymer I use. I generally use 10lb on spinning gear and crankbaits. 15lb for jigs, crigs, spinnerbaits.
  12. Yes....I highly recommend switching. Wish I'd switched sooner. I had a one day learning curve and by the end of the day it felt natural.
  13. Before my dad passed a few years ago, he looked at my plastics bag one day...laughed and said "I know where you spend your extra money". I think about that a lot when I pull it out. I've probably scaled back a little since then though. Of course I did just add robo worms and some dream shots this weekend.
  14. A lot of good stuff. Thanks...can't wait to get out and try it.
  15. Ok, I haven't been asleep for the last decade...but I've never really thrown one. Maybe a time or two but I know I've never caught a fish on one. So I've been reading up the last few weeks and since I'm looking at almost a foot of fresh snow on my deck I thought I'd ask. What weights, leader length, and most importantly retrieves work best for you guys when fishing in horizontally? Thanks...
  16. They were biting good yesterday.
  17. So sorry for loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
  18. Swim a light jig/grub through them.
  19. Old Bay, a little lemon juice, and some Slap Yo Mamma seasoning makes bass taste great. Not as good as crappie though.
  20. I'm pretty sure Kentucky does it for a weekend. Good program..there's a local lake that setups a day to coincide with it where they give away fishing stuff to the kids.
  21. I saw the same episode and thought the same thing.
