For the price, the plasma just isn't there. I looked at them quite a bit last winter, but ended up with a 50" Sony LCD projection set. I was worried about sunlight in the TV room, but it hasn't been a problem. Check out the Sony SXRD.

Much too late this year to do anything to the lake levels. Douglas and Cherokee are already moving to winter pool, dropping daily.

Be careful using any acid (lemon juice, wine, etc.) in any reactive vessel (aluminum foil, cast iron, etc.).

I don't know about the purpose, I just know that I love them. I'm slowly changing over to all split grip rods.

Day 17 Still having the occasional smoke, but they do nothing for me. I smoke mainly out of habit rather than desire. They taste like a turd's ***. Going to be a big challenge spending all night on the water and not having a smoke or 20.

I've been meaning to have a talk with my doc about starting my prostate check-ups a little sooner than what the medical profession recommends. My dad, uncle, and maternal grandfather all had prostate cancer. I got a cholesterol scare in 01 thanks to a health screening provided by my insurance company. Got it under control via diet and exercise.

No more so than any other line. I use flourescent.

Very little stretch. Strongest non-braided line on the market. Very abrasion resistant.

Marinate the fish for about 20 minutes in soy sauce, sesame oil, sake, grated ginger and minced garlic. While you're waiting, prepare enough parchment paper squares for the fish (one piece of fish per parchment square). Vary the size of the parchment according to the size of the fish. Fold the parchment in half, then cut to the shape of a heart. It won't look exactly like a heart, but close enough. After marinating the fish, lay out a piece of parchment and brush it with a tiny bit of canola oil. Place the fish in the center of the paper (OR place some vegetables first if that is what you like, I like bok choy, baby carrots, and bean sprouts), drizzle with just a bit of sake (no more than a TBSP). Fold the paper over the fish, then start folding the edges of the paper. What you want to do is start at the pointed end, make a 3-4" fold. Fold it over at least twice. Then make another fold using about half of the previous fold. Work your way around the 'heart' until the pouch is sealed. If the folds won't hold all that well, you can use staples to hold. Bake at 375* on a sheet pan for 20 minutes or so. I've done this with catfish, salmon and trout. You can also poach the fish using oil or milk.

Humminbird offers a portable that uses AA batteries. There are a few more out there. I've got one of the Humminbird portables, used it quite a bit last year. Been thinking about selling it.

I switched to the Deluxe QS three years ago and have never regretted it. Only problem is that I can never find the time to get out during bow season anymore. Darn lake keeps calling me... :-/

How could the Brewers be notorious for falling apart in September when they're usually in the basement? It isn't as though the Cards are really burning it up to cut the margin. They're gaining because the Brewers are struggling.

My cat loves Powerbait. He will sit beside my tackle bag for hours. For some reason, he doesn't have the same preference for Gulp. Once made the mistake of leaving two bags of plastics sitting on the coffee table. One bag of Powerbait, one bag of Gulp. An hour later, the Powerbait bag was in shreds, he didn't touch the Gulp bag.
