  1. $70 worth of jigs and NetBait Paca Chunks.
  2. I'm not Dave (but I did stay at a Days Inn last week ), but... Leave the part out? :-?
  3. You are talking about a lot of work.
  4. That is one of my problems. The fish spawn on the banks in 4-5' of water. Go away from the bank 15' and you're in 30' of water. Very little classic flat bottom in my regular haunt, very little grassy cover. I will echo avid's response that it is very doubtful that the fish in NH are in a post-spawn pattern. The fish here in the mountains are just coming off the bed after spawning for the last month.
  5. Buy as much thrust as you can afford. There is an immense difference between a 30 lb. thrust and a 55 lb. thrust. Heck, even if you can't afford it, go with the 55.
  6. Some very eye-opening responses here...
  7. Nashville has a college football team? Austin is overrun with hippies.
  8. We've been trying at our local store since February. No dice. The club treasurer just called the one over in KY for the heck of it about two weeks ago. More than willing to help in any way they can. The problem with the local store is the manager. Not a people person. Jr team?
  9. Take your pick... Rural Retreat Lake, Rural Retreat, VA Wise Reservoir, Wise VA Bark Camp Lake, Scott Co. VA Lake Keokee, Lee Co. VA Lake Varner, Covington GA
  10. One thing I have become increasingly passionate about over the last year is getting kids into fishing and hunting. I bought the stuff with the idea of giving a teenager a leg up at getting started with bass fishing. I started to buy a few trout-type lures to throw in, but I decided to stick with the bass basics. I can't wait till Saturday to see some kid's eyes light up when they get the Plano bag full of baits. Also thinking about giving a BASS membership or Jr BASS membership as another prize (even though my club isn't BASS affliated).
  11. MicroMunch grass jigs, Strike King Bitsy Jig and Mann's Stone Jigs.
  12. Bill Dance has it down pat. I use a butt seat most of the time, but from time to time I like sitting down, esp. if I've been out for a long time or am going on no sleep.
  13. I've actually got a couple of jars of Uncle Josh trailers at home that I'm going to throw in. All of that is just what I picked up today. Also have a couple more jigs and some 1/8 oz. leadheads. Was thinking of throwing in some line and another crankbait , but I was already over $50. If I had an decent extra rod lying around, I would throw a like new Quantum casting reel on it and give that away as well.
  14. My club has a kid's day tournament every year on a local municpal reservoir. It is stocked with trout and closed, then opened for fishing on the following Saturday. This is my first year with the club and I'm quite excited about it. I know there will be lot of people there who will only be there to 'cheat' and catch their kid's fish for them. We divide into 4 age groups (4-16), give prizes and trophies, provide lunch for the kids, and basically give them a day of free fishing (costs $12 to fish lake the rest of the year). My contribution is a tackle bag stocked with: Glenn graciously allowed me to also donate a $25 gift card in the name of BassResource.com. On a somewhat bad note, our local Wal Mart would not help us in the least bit. They wouldn't even meet personally with the club president when he went to talk to them. But, on the bright side, a WM about 50 miles away picked up the slack and offered us a great deal of help. I guess the local store doesn't know that they just missed out on $6000 of sales.
  15. I'd skip Swindle. He's liable to capsize you. ;D If it were me, I'd follow KVD, Clunn, Timmy Horton, and Ish Monroe.
  16. Cabela's Advance Anglers Rod Covers with hook guard Haven't had a rod get tangled in the locker since I started using them.
  17. I was not aware of this impending requirement. Mixed feelings to be sure... :-/
  18. Change the recipe to Herb Baked Smallmouth Bass and post it over at RiverSmallies. ;D
  19. I know. I've been using them both. Had to double bag the Gulp to keep the stink down. Reminds me, I need to stock up again... :-/
  20. I like the wood handled Rapala knives. While I don't fillet that many fish, I do use them quite often when boning out deer at camp. Always at least one in my tackle bag, backpack, and camper.
  21. More of the woman, less of the fish!
  22. Limited use over the last month while on a couple of new lakes. Got bit several times, no hookup. I like them. The Gulp stinks up the boat pretty quickly.
  23. You're going to have to go out with me one day and teach me how to catch the big ones.
  24. Carp can sometimes be the prarie dog of the water.
