  1. It's easy as pie, at least for the Yammy. I'm sure it's comparable if you have a Merc. Why don't you come around mid April and plan on fishing NH with me.
  2. Tell me about it ... this REAL winter stuff is really cutting into my fishing ! I can only organize and reorganize my gear so many times. I rebuilt my Yammy's water pump today. That kept me busy for a couple hours.
  3. @Banned User - Positive thoughts buddy, positive thoughts ....
  4. I figure we got 2' on the coast just south of Boston. My mother got SMASHED in Hanover. Good thing is that water levels will be back up when it melts ...
  5. To take a positive out of the 4' of snow we've gotten this Winter, water levels will be back up in a month or two.
  6. You can't help it where you live. You catch the number of bass in one year that I do in ten years (and I fish 2 or 3 days a week) ... you're doing something right and don't have to fish in cold weather.
  7. I've got to go with @Swamp Girl and @A-Jay . I pick @Swamp Girl because she's a fellow New Englander and puts up numbers like nobody else with a very simple style. @A-Jay gets my vote because his gear is immaculate and organized with military discipline, which is more my style. They take opposite approaches to achieve the same goal, where I fish like an organized 3rd grader!
  8. I had the same experience @ Blue Hills Reservoir about 10 years ago. I caught a 4_11 LMB there in 2014 and little or nothing there since.
  9. I'm BEYOND itchin', and with another 18-24" of snow coming Monday, I'm starting to feel like @A-Jay ....
  10. Braintree treated Sunset Lake years ago with the same result. I fish it from time to time when I can’t go far, but it’s not been the same since. @Jigfishn10 - what color is yours?
  11. How shallow? Should I bring kayak or RT178?
  12. Mother Nature doesn't want us to go fishing anytime soon, and since we have MORE "plenty of time" to research, clean, organize, and read BassResource ..... What are your plans for Spring? Where are you going and what are you throwing? Are you fishing with other BassResource members? I'm going to spend more time north of the Neponset Bridge (that's the DMZ for South Shore folks) and fish NH/VT, and maybe ME more this year, throwing swimbaits and focusing more on jigs.
  13. Well said. How far is the NH Expo in March? It's in Milford, NH.
  14. It's easy to do since we're locked out. The New England Expo put a hurting on my wallet.
  15. Being a Patriots fan, I don't hold any expectations for '26. They're a young team and had a great '25.
  16. I have in the past, but we're locked out up here and I've not felt like going ice fishing lately. My local waters have about 8" of ice with a layer of snow/slush on top.
  17. I keep three or four setups ready to go most of the time. I like to mix and match my rigs to keep it fresh, depending on where I'm going and what I'm in the mood for.
  18. I dusted off the auger and headed to Plymouth. BAD NEWS - the ice was about 8" thick at both ponds I checked. @Saltysmalljaws told me mid-Cape was locked up too. More snow is forecasted for late this weekend too..... ☹️.
  19. It is. Bring them to a shop and have them tested if you want to know how much life they have left in them. I have a Harbor Freight tester that I find is pretty accurate.
  20. @Saltysmalljaws lives on the Cape. He's gonna do a recon and report back. That's about as SOUTH as I can drive right now.
  21. I can FEEL it .... it's on the way !
  22. Quincy Bay still looks like Alaska, but daytime temperatures are above freezing and @Saltysmalljaws is down the Cape doing his open water dance …. Everything’s still locked up, but I’m betting there’ll be some fishable water in three weeks.
  23. It was an expensive trip to the New England Fishing Expo this winter. A couple Douglas Outdoors rods (LRS-C795F, DXS-7104F), a FX Customs spinning rod (WSJ74MLF), a Lews Super Duty 300 and Custom Lite spinning reel, and (LASTLY) an Old Town Sportsman PDL 120 Pro. ADD: I forgot to mention the handful of Beast Coast OW Sniper jigs and two Vision 110's that followed me home too. Now all I need is some open water .... 😐.
