Spinnerbait trailers
No trailer for me, on very rare occasions I have taken skirt completely off and use a paddletail in its place. If I get a short strike I will put on trailer hook if cover allows when using skirt

Partial line change?
I use Sunline Sniper on several baitcasters they come in 200yd spools so I just figure out needed amount of backing and spool on last 100yds with Sunline which in turn cuts my cost in half per reel. I just use a uni-uni knot with 3 wraps.

How do you approach Night Fishing? Favorite technique?
That's all we used for years, caught many bass on them during Summer. Color never made a difference we could tell using them. We'd bring them out about 1hr after sunset and fish a few hours. Lots of good times throwing them in past. Don't night fish anymore but the ole Jitterbug would be top on my list if I did and second would be a chatterbait.

Padding your spools
I do similar on all my baitcaters that I use Sunline Sniper, put on partial mono then 100yds Sniper on top so I can get 2 reels done with one 200yd spool. On spinning reels I use Power Pro Slick V2 and since most are 150yds I spool enough mono on first where I can finish it with the whole spool of braid.

Line for jig/t-rig fishing (no braid)
Sunline Sniper 14-16# has been great for me last several years. In past used Red Label(to much memory) then InvizX(started having several breakoffs in heavy cover). I use cheap mono for backing and then spool 100yds of Sunline on top to keep cost down that way its around $11 a reel

The latest sale thread
Some do for sure. One of the employees I spoke with said at there's they give them first shot. He literally had a cart 3/4 full behind counter he was telling me about. It was aggravating in one way but if I worked for them I'd do same

Funniest personal fishing story
Many many years ago(before we all carried cell phones) we lived in Florida, I put boat in and wife stayed with it at dock while I parked truck. Ramp was huge and parking was way down road, by the time I got back boat was half full of water and wife was siting relaxing on dock with a beer. I asked her why didn't you come get me or something? She replied "I knew you were coming back this way eventually and at least I pulled it up on ramp so it wouldn't sink completely" ??

How do boat fishermen really feel about kayak anglers?
This is a real and very dangerous problem I've seen more than once. Aggravating as others stated is going between me and bank while fishing, that always amazes me. I've got family and friends that use kayaks and me growing up canoeing I am very mindful of others on water when I'm in my boat

Braid to mono knot
I like the J-Knot best except for micro guides. It's stronger than the Uni or Seaguar knots. Tried FG but never got fast enough to be able to use it efficiently on water.

Do you guys seal the cork on new rods?
I did several rods last year and never experienced that, but my sealant was new at time. I just cleaned old cork with magic eraser and rinsed with water. New rods just wiped with wet rag. I used cheap foam brushes that were sealed and put rods in closed room till dry. It didn't change the feel of any rods but it did darken the cork a shade.

Use of a Medium heavy EXTRA fast?

Casting Distance Expectations for a newbie
Your doing fine with 25yds already overhand. I'm usually around 30yds on average with most 1/2oz lures on normal cast with not trying to put it way out.

Braided Line Cutter
Great to hear that's what I finally ordered last night after reading a post from @GrumpyOlPhartte and researching. It will be nice not putting tension on line when cutting close to leader knot.

Fished a team tournament once at our local lake with a guy that did that, he loaded boat and left during weigh-in at ramp I was shocked?

Fantasy Fishing 2019 - Official Thread
Had Drew Benton originally but changed to Clunn day before. Completely changed team based on Lanier. Kyle Monti burned me pretty good so he's out for season?

Fantasy Fishing 2019 - Official Thread
Glad I picked Clunn at SJR. Lanier should be interesting depending on how big the Spots weigh and if Largemouth are staging up. I'm betting on Spots but if not I'm in trouble?

Jig
3/8oz for me mostly when flipping wood shallow, sometimes 1/4oz with big trailer for slower fall or smallmouth.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
Exactly same here from Dicks. I received a Castaway Skeleton and Fenwick Elite Tech with a shirt thrown in with them. I returned to store and will never order a rod again from them. Unfortunately I had same with Amazon when says "fulfilled by Amazon" others that said fulfilled by actual rod company were in tubes.
