Livetarget Walking Frog
Lt walk-in frog isn't gonna walk like a spook cause it likes the head up position which causes resistance to a glide.. If u want a wide walk you need a spook

Someone Rational Plez Talk Me Out Of Replacing Braid W/ Nanofil
Tried it and it extends my range by at least 10-15 yards.. That's alot. Have yet to break off.. But was using a glass rod with it. Thinking of substituting it for braid up to 20lb maybe putting it on my flipping stick

Frustrated With A Baitcaster
Nothing wrong with spinning gear esp for smaller lures and they certainly have their place. I gave up on baitcasters after birdnests started costing me precious line & time on the water and thusly fish.. I said I dont have the patience nor time to become a freespooling freak expert I need to catch fish now..

There Goes My Confidence...
Thats the trick of fishin.. its a puzzle of sorts you gotta figure them out .. first you gotta find em Sometimes they prefer something else.. in a certain color.. in a certain size.. in a certain presentation.

Does Anyone Use Spincast Reel?
I have one GC100 but I must say I wish I'd gotten another GC120 instead.. the bigger spool size does matter. I wish they got some good engineers on the case cause they could make a real kik asp spincast if they really put their brains on it. The spools are too high diameter and too deep which causes high angles and friction for the line when the spool empties.. esp a problem with low capacity spools.

Big Hammer Sledge Hammer
I have yet to catch one on mine but I admit I dont fish it enough with all the other big toys I got.. The 9" sledgehammer needs a swimjig head with a huge hook.. I got a 7/0 on mine with a heavy jighead Firstly like the other gent said you cant get a weighted screwlock on right with this lure as its not a splitbelly. Rigging it sideway is no good I find as well. Its very long and with a screwlock hook it wobbles like you wont believe (not in a good way) .. you need the weight of the jighead to stablizie it. Good luck and lemme kno if you end up catching a big one on it..

Does Anyone Use Spincast Reel?
GC120 has I believe a titanium pickup so I dont worry about braid..its been considered and its why I chose this reel. Titanium pickup, large spool, large aperature, mostly metal construction not like those dang el cheapo zebcos. So yea its about the only spincast reel I can use reliably for braid and get 40-50 yard casts out of. Pulled an 18.5" bass out of the waters using it just this morn.. all my setups are now GC120.

Stealth Mode Not Enough
Unless you are on a boat casting towards shoreline.. this is what you need to deal with right now. Sight is most important.. I find that most of the time if nearly not all.. when they see me, they get lockjaw for my presentations. This is part of the reason I'm beggin for hydrillas.. most guys dont like weeds and hydrillas.. but without this cover, the fish can see you pretty well this time of year. Cast parallel to shore and walk and be silent like a ninja til the cabbage starts growin.

Just Tried Tatsu
Tatsu is the only fluoro I'll use.. of course I only use it for leader (25lb).. if I had to use it for a mainline.. it could get expensive. It doesnt break off as much as the other fluoros I've tried but it does break off occaisionally.. but I whip my lures pretty hard and fast.

Does Anyone Use Spincast Reel?
I use spincast.. Daiwa Goldcast. I've pull so many fish over 4 lbs on it I've lost count. Even run braid on it. In general I've found spincast reels underwhelming and inadequate .. its just that the largest model (GC120) of Daiwa Goldcast is the ONLY spincast reel IMO which is a reliable tool for bass fishing..

Braid W/o Leader. Am I The Only One...

Today's Fishing:not Even A Single Bite.
Prespawn means you gotta find them first and in order to find them you gotta get them to bite and they are shakin off the winter so you gotta work alil slower Not too many fishermen show enuf patience in doing this tough task.. I see em all early spring can tell they are crankin their reels way too fast and not searching enough

Want To Get Into Swimbaits
Yer not gonna be throwin any real swimbaits by west coast standards with that rod..

Rough Start So Far
I've been catching more and more of them each outing and the sizes are moving towards the 3 lb range so the males are likely coming closer to shore and scouting out beds. Yer in my neck of the woods .. so you can throw anything you like but work them slow. If you want volume throw smaller baits. The water is still around 60 and cold and the fish are wary and lethargic and arent lookin to take the rod outa yer hands.. my strikes have been subtle and I've missed many bites so far but also brought many ashore.

Missing Out On Something Sticking With Plastics Only?
I'm with you.. I'm also going to my plastic more and more.. its 70:30 plastics/ spinnerbait for me. Its hard to out-class plastics when alil subtlty is needed.
