Umm .. usually latinos are like the bucket brigade and are after bluegills so even if they dont have a licesne I usually leav them alone.. they got a tougher life than me on average but I assume its private property.. so if they dont behave cant you just call the cops for the owner? As far as the removal of bluegill.. esp for pond #1.. I'd leave it the way it is if you catching 7+ lbs in there.. wouldnt touch a thing

I wouldnt have any such problem fishing my spincasts in tournaments I can cast 40 yards easily and rarely have an issue.. in fact my setup has taken the equipment issue out of the equation for me.. its now all about the fish hunt.. lake strategy, tactics, figuring them out, presentation I'd never use a zebco 33 tho.. especially the "modern" models are trash imo

Gotta agree with Francho above if you wanna consistently catch fish and bigger fish all-season all-condition, you gotta own yer home lakes.. know it like the back of your hand.. pay attention to whats going on.. figure out whats going on.. experiment some based on knowledge.. make note not just realy on getting lucky and throwin this or that bait here or there.. that is luck thats why its tough to outfish a good fisherman on his home waters

I think anyone using a Deps 250 is : 1)going for a trophy fish 2)willing to wear their young arms out throwin this thing all day 3)using a proper swimbait rod which can handle 6oz baits 4)of a mindset that this money is really not needed cause yer one backlash away from a REALLY bad day I thought about a DEP 175 once but figured I could lose 4 or 5 S168s for that price and decided against it. S168 may not have as good action as the DEPs but its good enough for me Besides I like throwin a wide range of baits to catch whatever I am in the mood for If I were of a mindset to go after trophies all day everyday.. maybe a DEPS 250 .. maybe if it were all I'd throw

I use the FG only cause I need to for braid to high# fluoro for my big baits else they go flyin.. otherwise for normal fishing uni-uni is easy and just fine.. and yea I cant see myself field-tying the FG.. its too time consuming and needs to be done slowly carefully and right. For the FG to properly keep its grip, you need to tension the braid..

Slow floater? I have a floater and I think I made the right decision. Reason is I can essentially make this floater a slow sink (which is how its rigged in the pic) or leave it as a floater or fish it like a drop shot (which is a bit of a pain to rig up) I did it awhile ago but I believe its 2 x 1/8 ounce weight one on each treble

Depends on the structure on the shallows and the conditions and the season. The banks have various structures.. weeds, sloping descents and steep dropoffs out into open water, sunken wood in various depths.. and if you are able to rip long casts you can reach the edges of deeper waters. Alot of baits can be used it really depends on the location, time, and conditions. Improve your bass knowledge in general. As a start, it wouldnt hurt to fish finesse.. small plastic minnow lures like keitechs and small spinnerbaits 1/4oz worked slow are imo all-season & should get your confidence going and catch you a ton of small fish. If you have weedy shores, grab a small hollowbody frog and learn to work it in the weeds and edges.

Too lazy to get the boat out this morn and decided to bankbeat.. in 3 hours of work landed close to 20 fish (lost count) mostly 2-3 pounders but did cap it off with 2 hosses: 21" 5.5 lb and a 20" 4 3/4lb (the 20" broke my flippin stick and ended my day) Even Mattlures got into it .. first fish on Mattlures only a 14" but hey its the first on the Hardgill.. gonna use it alil more going forward. Fishin itch is scratched for another week..

Yes alot of the fish have moved deep esp the bigger gals.. but there are still alot of fish in the shallows.. ALOT Maybe smaller but alot! My advice to you.. fish like a ninja! Sneak up to the bank camo'ed and silent.. cast with your background being the woods. Esp during the summer on the banks.. that imo is one of the major factors.. often times the fish are right along the banks in 1-2 ft of water and scurry away when you step on a twig.

Change it up .. and keep changing.. presentation, lure, location Even if it dont make sense.. change it up Record.. you'll learn to fish "out of the box" that way Fish dont read those articles and books we write about them sometimes.. theres too many factors out there.. such as "how they feel" .. aint no books about how they feel

If everyone kept their limit like the over pressured lakes I used to fish near urban areas.. the fishing would get REAL tough and then noone could enjoy their weekend.. makes for some guys going postal over the weekends Yea one can rationalize this and that but nothing in this world works that simply and playing God often has its consequences. ie.. turning your lake into bluegill or crappie infested waters (great for panfishermen)

I use snap swivels but you need to modify alil or oull be sorry.. most of the ones sold out there have failed me at one time or another several times costing me a good fish and many lures. Last year I had a 5 pounder shake free a spro hyper snap swivel purported to be "the best" style.. yea right.. the main arm was still locked but the short arm with the swivel link was somehow shaken free by the beast.. and one last shake saw her and my best spinnerbait drop in the drink with jaws wide open (mine)

Good to see the 8" Hudd works in the dead of summer I've not yet gotten bit in dead summer hot weather on the larger Hudds yet but this is a good indication

At this time of the season you usually know when its a bass which nailed it.. theyre not bashful unless a big cold front rolls thru Those taps and misses if they occur frequently and in the same area are likely to be aggressive crappie or larger sunfish The other day a crappie struck my topwater hard as a bass but as soon as the rod loaded up I could tell the weight wasnt there.. just a large crappie

Those legs are nice and get bass to strike but only if the fish can see em.. holes or weed edges are where I use them I cant walk the *** frogs that well cause of those legs.. and they dont cast as far as the booyah and koppers .. so they get used sparringly

I'm fishin lotsa frog topwater right now in the emerging slopfest Booyah has the better hookup % for me but Koppers is gettin bit more

My flat-ish lures dont cast very well.. this one looks to frustrate as well? I wonder.. if so it'll prob stay in the box more than not
