  1. I'd generally keep my trebled swimbaits away from cover. Stuff like Huddgill and the weedless hudds are better around cover.
  2. I'm with fishtank.. keep the slime on the fish not in my house
  3. Thats a great addition..
  4. Its not just the knot .. its just fluorocarbon.. my 25# tatsu breaks off on hooksets as well occaisionally and the remnants never indicate a knot problem.. breaks upstream of knot.
  5. Well.. come on.. throw somethin that looks like a minnow out there! Plenty of small plastic swimbaits the size of minnows at Dicks or Walmart..
  6. Mattlures Hardgill $70 Unfortunately nothin caught yet
  7. Yea I dont know whats goin on here.. I switch over many of my setups to nanofil 17# and have been more than pleased.. more casting distance and no breakoffs like I sometimes did with braid. NO problems with knots at all, in fact my Tatsu 25# leader is breaking off more.. my mainline Nanofil hasnt broken off yet this season. If the Sufix Nanobraid is anything like Nanofil or better I would certainly give it a shot! These lines make braid almost obsolete imo.. if only they had them in higher #
  8. Not sure what yer relative is talkin about. Spring and summer are the two best seasons for fishing imo.. I catch the most fish in summer..the biggest in late spring Fall imo is the toughest out of the 3 seasons when those fish are all over the place and those fall rains kill the temps.. falls not bad.. just tougher
  9. Kids these days.. $$$ is nothin to em.. just ask dad
  10. Ya you know bass can spit a lure faster than you can blink an eye.. or so it seems When I feed my pet bass, if it aint right, its spit it so fast you wouldnt believe
  11. I've had Tatsu 25# break off on me on heavy hooksets many times.. hard to believe 15# Spiderwire would be any better
  12. A WIDE brim hat thats all I need
  13. Yes even if you know it, it has to sink in.. its too easy to just throw that elaztech in with the others without thinking and reorganizing after a while you end up with a pile o mess
  14. Best is relative but I really like Power pro slick 8 and suffix 832
  15. If yer new to frog fishin, I'd suggest a real soft frog to start with to improve hookups
  16. think about it you want the spool nearly filled cause at the top end of the spool the diameter means more line per rotation of the shaft so more line goes out with each rotation initially and yes as the other guys said you dont need more than 75 yds on the spool to be braid .. can use filler ..I dont know many dudes who can cast braid even 50 yards
  17. Kickin butt with all sorts of topwater right now I dont even bother moving from the flats nor using any other baits unless chocolate milk rains down: walkers hollow frogs buzz frogs prop baits
  18. The baitcasting reel is practically a winch.. the design just is built to haul in heavy fish.. are all baitcasters built to haul big fish.. no but the general design is for haulin. Thats the main advantage of a BC. The other is that u could literally bomb casts further than anything with heavier lures if yer a good freespooler.. I'm not a good freespooler.. Theres no accuracy difference.. I saw a video once where some championship caster used s wimpy whippy spinning rod and put his lure everywhere a dime could fit on a casting range... nah the accuracy is about practice.
  19. nasty ponds covered by weeds means I usually use only my flippin stick with braid my spinning setups are on medium rods so theyd be no good in the thick stuff..
  20. Weather is scorching but topwater is on fire
  21. Ive tried braid on spinning before and did not enjoy that at all Would suggest nanofil for spinning instead
  22. My sympathies.. it must have taken you a long time to accrue all that equipment. Those who took these will get theirs. Maybe the bright side is that you have the reason to get all new equipment if your insurance will cover it..
  23. Dab o superglue on those no probs since
  24. Well we can just go back to fishing or turn the TV channel or go play a video game and try and forget about the craziness or .. become more activist like the forefathers in the 1770s When more people in this country stand up and take action then things will begin to change
