  1. I have only used the Topwaters they have, but that being said, they have very nice finishes and nice hooks as well. They seem to have a quality build to them, I would imagine the cranks are the same.
  2. I use my daughter's little pink barbie reel.
  3. I'm with you man, I just buy Hobies off ebay, they are decent quality and withstand any abuse. If I happen to lose them its no biggie.

Thomas Buoyant spoons are great for trout.
  5. High End - Costas Get some croakies arc system to keep your glasses on your head.
  6. I like the Luck E Strike RC squarebills, just have to change the hooks on them.
  7. Hey Bob, Used to live near you - by Hamtpon and Eichelberger. I live in Crestwood now. When they aren't iced over I'm usually at the city/ county lakes too - typically Jefferson Lake in Forest Park, Queeny Park, Carondalet, and Simpson Park.
  8. You really can't beat those 1$-2$ Bins they always have at Wallly World. Yum, Heddon, Cotton Cordell... Not the best variety, but very cheap prices for decent lures.
  9. Welcome. I'm in Crestwood. Let me know if you ever want to hit the water. Which pond leaked?
  10. Or he gets paid to sell certain things... Do you have a camera on his boat during tournaments? Is he really using fluorocarbon with his buzzbaits when it comes time to fish for the money. You gotta take anything a PAID spokesman says with a grain of salt. Does he use fluoro with his buzzbaits? Probably, but you don't really know.
  11. I own one, I'm still breaking it in. It has a very smooth casting and reeling system. It almost feels like you are casting/reeeling in nothing but next thing you know your lure is 20 yards away. I have yet to find my "sweetspot" on the settings though like I have on my Citica. I think I'm getting close, just not there yet, Probably about another week and I should have it dialed in. Overall I think it is a nice reel, feels very well constructed, and to me the additional weight some people complain about I don't even notice. As for the T-Wing, it might give you a couple extra yards, but nothing drastically noticeable.
  12. You need to pay if you want to advertise on the website.
  13. There was a fish kill at Tilles Park too... I don't think there stocking it again until trout season.
  14. I'd be interested.
  15. Go for the NEW DAIWA TATULA - Right at $150, does a great job throwing low weights, built to last. Lots of bang for your buck. You can check out the review at Tackle Tour if you don't believe me.
  16. Buzzbait, popper, spook... just work it around the weeds. Sometimes picking gunk off your hook is just what you have to do.
  17. Thanks Tom. That topo map is pretty much all that is available that i could find.
  18. Just figured I would post this scenario to you guys to see how you would fish it. I'm going to be fishing this Saturday the 5th on this lake. The lake is about 150 acres, so not very large. It also does not have shad. Forage is mainly bluegill, crawfish, and green sunfish. Grass and moss cover is pretty minimal, the bottom is mainly muddy and leafy with some rocks by the dam. There are some docks along the waters edge, some laydowns, but no significant amounts of cover. Friday is supposed to be about 90 and sunny, with it transitioning to cooler and rainy on Saturday with a high of 75. I have attached a topo map of the lake and if you want to look up the location in google maps, search the coordinates "38.758902,-91.035461" Heres a link to the topomap http://www.topoquest.com/map.php?lat=38.75778&lon=-91.03551&datum=nad83&zoom=2&map=auto&coord=d&mode=zoomin&size=m aspen topo.pdf
  19. You don't need to pause with plastics, if you feel their weight set the hook. Also, if you had to tighten your drag after the hookset this probably meant that you didn't stick him well enough and he wasnt even hooked. Me personally, if i were using an light setup and that small of a hook for a t-rig, I would just use a lead jighead and an exposed hook so that I would have a better chance of hooking the fish.
  20. When are you losing the fish? Close to the shore/boat or soon after they bite. My guess is that you aren't getting a strong enough hookset and they are getting off easily because the hook hasn't really penetrated.
  21. Im not sure of the weight, but these people saying 5.5 or 6 are crazy, definitely bigger than that.
  22. I ordered one on Amazon for $109.00. The next day the seller changed his price to $154, hopefully my order isn't cancelled. I'll let everyone know what I think *if* I get it.
  23. I typically do the best at Queeny and Forest. At queeny can't beat a texas rigged plastic and a topwater frog or popper. Forest Park is pretty dynamic, it can take a while to figure out what they want. There is some underwater grass all throughout the lake that will blow around depending on the wind, so that is the key to finding the fish. Once you find them they are pretty easy to catch and suprisingly big for a public pond. I like the spook, buzzbait, crankbait, jig, tx rig worms here. Fabick is fun but I haven't caught anything decent out of there, just some tiny ones. I forgot about Carondelet Park. That place can be pretty fun too.
  24. Yeah, they are sold out now so you can't add it to the cart. Anyone?
