Road To The Super Bowl 2023
Longing for the days of funny SB commercials.... I still watch each one...habit...hope...I don't know...but result is mostly disappointment. Although, I do commend the one that made me (and probably many others) look around to make sure I wasn't sitting on the remote. Not so good that I remember what the service or product was, but a pretty good prank nonetheless

Boating safety idea.
One of the things my dealer mentioned when I was buying my first boat was how, in an emergency, he was able to stand on the ventilation plate and lift himself with the motor using the trim button (on the motor)

Road To The Super Bowl 2023
I don't think it should be 'a story'. But if you ask what is wrong with booing the awarding of a player with the Walter Payton award....you might be a Philly fan.

Road To The Super Bowl 2023
Maybe the groundskeeper was mad that they made him paint that stupid looking SB logo on the field...and said, "I'll show them!"

Show your ride...
Got the outboard broken in, got a little slime, and was able to loosen up the TM steering somewhat, and though I still need to re-do transducer cable. Still pretty happy with it. Runs just over 30 mph (gps) with two of us and gear. Plenty for this lake.

P-Line CXX #15 lb. vs. Yozuri- Hybrid #15 lb.
Neither. Unless you are throwing 1oz or better, YZH 12 is more than enough for spinnerbaits and chatterbaits in any bass environment I fish. Probably more than enough even arond zebra mussels. Use KVD line conditioner, though.

Ketch Board vs Hawg Trough or something else?
Hawg Trough was the standard a few years ago. As with most rules ...in tournament fishing... (in life?) ... KBF went away from them because DBs were able to manipulate them to cheat. Ketch only the last couple years.

Road To The Super Bowl 2023
That looks like almost every single corner defense play...in the NFL... all season. May have been a 'by the books' call... but it should have been a non-call... in my opinion

Road To The Super Bowl 2023
Booing Dak was pretty classy. Coach Reid played the end perfectly. But, I do wish the rules were such that there'd be disincentive to flopping short of the goal line near the end. Not at all sure what could be changed, but the last couple minutes were as disappointing to me as an NBA game with nothing but free throws for last minute of a game. I only sort of half-watched the game, but it seemed like some horrid secondary play all game. Seemed like every dropback there was someone in the secondary that was totally lost. NFL should be totally embarrassed by the condition of that field. That had direct affect on plays... and the outcome... more so than any blown call/ non-call

What do you use to cut braid?
Lost mine....had to re-appropriate my wife's pair. So very disappointed that these no longer exist. Would love another...or two.

Broken Megabass jerkbaits
First time I broke a Vision .... unfortunately the back trebles stayed with a giant. Broke right at the boat. I may try the warranty. Loved that one; accounted for more fish than any other jerkbait I've owned.

What tactic have you completely given up on?
Never caught a bass over 12 inches on a neko. Probably never will.

Just picked up my new Kistler
I have that rod, and I've grown to love it. I was afraid it wouldn't get a lot of use at first. Definitely drag some big jigs with it. July and August, I frequently throw 1/2-3/4oz swing jigs deep. Probably similar times and places that might call for c-rig. Also 5+ in soft swimbaits on heavy jig heads like FinTech TitleShot

Some very interesting quotes from Ben Milliken, modern Big Bass guru....
I suppose that might depend. Lambeau? Or the Linc?

Tragically, Al was killed in a motorcycle accident four or five years ago. Sirsnook and Raul come to mind anytime someone asks 'Why spinning ....' or someone mentions Mexico fishing

Devotion
Really enjoyed it. My wife talked about the book a lot over the past 5-6 years, so we had to see it when it opened. I'm still a bit disappointed that it had such a limited run....few theaters...for just a few weeks....unless it took off. It is well done and the fact that it is fairly true to the book and to events, makes it that much more enjoyable for me. I was particularly impressed with the acting.

If you scroll down about 3 weeks, you'll find the one that died. Like so much in social media, the entertainment is in the comments. So much virtue out there on the interwebs...lol

The depths at which they are finding and catching giants has been eye opening. I have never targeted LMB deeper than 30 feet deep. Josh Jones caught one at, I think, 60 feet not too long ago....(which, most unfortunately died before he could even try to fizz). Now, when I see big fish at 35+, I am a lot less likely to dismiss them as cats, stripers, drum, etc.

Are there too many options?
I had no idea that Amazon was a decent source. Many years ago, I found prices excessive and pedigree questionable. I haven't looked for anything rod, reel, lure or line related on Amazon in many years.

I’m sorry for all of the posts but I am sort of confused and receiving conflicting information. Everything I’d read and heard up to this point has said people throw 6” Bull Shads and other small swimbaits (1-3 oz) on traditional swimbait rods
I doubt that few beyond the engineers in here understand the physics. But it isn't hard to comprehend how rod bend can introduce more stored energy at peak of the backswing. As soon as you introduce flex to your lever, the variables take the physics calculations through the roof.

Lure Ferry?
Not yet. Wait until some engineer from Lowrance watches Minority Report again.....and then produces little spider minnows, each with FFS. ?

Lol....soon you will understand why I have three times as many as I regularly use

While @A-Jays reply (and mine above) sounds a bit like 'rub some dirt on it', there's even more wisdom with regards to rod recommendations. The feel is just so very personal. You may find 95% LOVE a certain rod for a specific application...and you could still hate it. Just can't know until you cast, hook and land with it.....a few times.
