Didn't think much of this thread last year. Did not see a tick once in VA or NC.. Whole different story this year. One walk to the dock (NC) and back, and one or more is almost a guarantee. Nexgard working well for the pup, but they need to make a human version....maybe Bruno will share with me...lol. Removed a couple last night....one just getting buried right on the junk. Not painful, but kinda heebie-jeebie-ish.

No hesitation, I would immediately buy a Kistler Helium LMH. Today. 7 or 7'3....your choice. I spend a lot of time pitching and casting t-rig with 1/8 weight. This rod is in my hands nearly as much as next 10 rods combined. I don't know your Rebellion, but Helium treats me right.

Really appreciate the report, Scott. Are you able to get the whole way between Little Falls and Hicks by boat most of the time?

Another vote for Cut-R. I would try weightless or t-rig with 1/16 tungsten worm weight. Also try Rage Bug horizontal rigged same way. D-Shad and Senko both also. All rigged on Owner Twistlock 3/0 lightwire

I have about 8 Quantum Smoke reels. At discounted prices, easily best reels I have had for the money. Absolutely love them.

Funny timing...sitting here on the couch tonight absolutely spent. Pedaled for 9 hours today in a tournament an hour and a half away. And 5 hours in the Hobie yesterday...I think this is probably my last season. I turned 60 last year. I still enjoy it, but I think I see the boat - yak fishing ratio changing dramatically next year

I hadn't made that connection before. I use horizontal Rage Bug 90% of the time. And I almost never hang in wood....don't think I ever lost one to a snag. Hadn't attributed that to the Rage Bug before...ty (I have casted off a couple, though. I like 40# braid for 3/8-1/2 chatterbaits, and a well executed backlash can send them well beyond the end of the line.)

This time of year, I like to let it go to the bottom...wait a few seconds and then bring it back with short hops. Snap your rod tip up enough to just feel it vibrate and let it drop and sit for 2-3 seconds...do that all the way back to the boat. Don't be surprised if they just pick it up off the bottom

If mounted correctly on your trolling motor, the transducer shoots pings straight down. You see pixels that represent how far away the ping hit something and returned to the transducer. The outgoing ping 'widens', so you are looking at a representation of an ever widening area as distance (depth) increases. So any images are just your fishfinder trying to interpret those echoes for you

I use Owner Twistlock for Rage Bugs. Light 3/0 for 1/16 and 1/8. Open Gap for anything heavier. I haven't tried the Twistlock Flipping....might be new?...but it looks like one I need to try for other flipping baits that aren't as soft as Rage Bugs. Who am I kidding....I am highly unlikely to ever be throwing something other than Rage Bugs. So rare that I find switching to to Pit Boss or Sweet Beaver makes a difference. It has happened, but only a couple times that I recall

If you leave the CO2 cylinder at home, I'd think so Wait....it depends on which TSA page you look at. One page says only empty cylinders. Another says life vest with up to 2 CO2 cartridges OK. If you call them cartridges, not cylinders, you may be OK. Though the life vest page does say that the TSA agent might just take it anyway...lol

Perhaps more important than the money aspect ...... I typically send at least one fish pic to my wife each time out....sure, she likes bass fishing and looking at big fish....but it doesn't hurt to remove any doubt that I'm really out on the water all day
