100% should have been my #1. Chainsaws are bad, too, but tolerable. Some lakefront folks can blow leafs for 2 hours nonstop.

I applaud you. Another, less moderated, forum I belonged to used to have a button, 'Return to Forum Without Posting'. After that button went away with some software change, members would just post 'RTFWP'. It was a good way to exercise your 'right' to retort, while biting your tongue. I wish all social media could adopt that button....and would hope it could catch on....even a little

I strongly dislike wake boats from a number of perspectives...as a waterfront erosion owner, as a boater, and especially as a kayak fisherman. Wake boats, hard boundaries and kayaks don't mix. Fortunately, I learned from a far more different sort of wake boat driver. A few years ago, I was kayak fishing just off a seawall, so I could closely cast parallel. A wake boat came down the channel a good distance off shore, and he was repeatedly hitting his horn until I turned to acknowledge him -- he verbally warned to me back off from the wall as he passed. I'm still thankful he did, because I had no clue at the time what a mixing bowl that creates.

Owner Twistlock hooks have replaced both styles for me in most applications.

Streamsong and Big Cedar are two more that get some press...never been, but maybe worth checking out...

Lions might win 8 games and still win that division. And that would be worth shooting for because I don't see a wild card coming out of there. Another team that 'pundits' seem to love, that I can't fathom, is the Dolphins. I would not be surprised if Tua is retired by Thanksgiving and the Fins are fighting the Pats to stay out of last in the division.

Every time I hear someone say they're going to win the NFC North....or win 10 games.....I gotta forcibly get my eyes out of the top of my head. When was their last playoff win....the 50's? I ain't saying it can't happen.....only that I cannot imagine it

I have never wanted a vehicle that anyone could ever consider luxury. I would not be happier in any vehicle than I am in my 16 year old Durango with power nothing but locks and windows. So, I'd say dump the truck and get an older, reliable truck and a modest boat.

With a scale, it might go 5. Without, it's whatever you want it to be. That there is much more a kayak tournament bass, than a boat tournament bass. She needs a sandwich.

My wife went to a baby shower a couple months ago while I was fishing, and afterward told me that there were some men there. I was pretty surprised. Like @gimruis, I always thought showers were just for women. (Not to mention, a lame excuse to solicit for gifts). Apparently, that has changed and men are going routinely. If next one is more BBQ than mimosas....and my wife wants me to...I would likely go, also

Possibly part of it. But, I would not discount the idea that fishing a Senko could be perceived as a more 'passive' type of fishing than a spinnerbait or crankbait. Chucking and winding can make one feel more like an active participant Certainly, you can target cast a Senko, but often when I am using a Senko it is skipping, hopping or drifting, and none of those feels any better fishing than moving baits...or even jigs or trigs in cover. So, I'm ok leaving the word skill out of the conversation, but consider that maybe 97% of the time I am fishing, I don't have a fish on the end of my line....I'd better enjoy fishing the lure that is on there. I sometimes enjoy fishing a Senko, but I can understand folks who don't.

I don't fish wacky rigs. But a weightless 5 in. Senko on an Owner Twistlock Light will come through heavy grass as well as anything...and I fish a lot of grass the past few years, so I do use them more than I used to. Senkos have been responsible for saving a couple tournaments for me. When they are on baitfish in grass, a Senko can still get it done.

I totally forgot about one incident that was immensely satisfying.... My wife and I were fishing a smallish cove on Smith Mountain Lake years ago when a glitter boat rolled in right on top of us, not 70 feet away and put the trolling motor down. I was pizzed, but hadn't said anything yet when my wife started talking to them...a lot...nonstop...they left within 10 minutes and we had a good laugh

What? I almost sorta understood the part about buying fewer, better rods. But even that lost me. Ok if you mean skipping the years of trying to buy the perfect $60 rod...and then $100 rod....and then, ok.. $180..."ahhh wth...I need to see what a $300 rod feels like"...sure, you can end up with rods that aren't high on your list....those can be sold or saved for spouse, guests, kids, grandkids, etc... I don't commit to a rod until I have used it a number of times. It isn't unusual for me to spend a bunch on a rod, only to go out and spend on another for same technique. Could I get by with 5 rods? I suppose....but I have plenty of room for the dozens of rods I have and except for a maybe a half dozen, most get used most years. I have downsized most stuff in my life...so I sort of get it....but while fishing remains a passion level hobby, I have no interest in paring back right now. (Those remaining few include a couple 80s era Ugly Broomsticks, other assorted old and or cheap rods...not counting vintage steel, bamboo, early fiberglass rods I have laying around.)

That thought would never cross my mind. I bet there are just as many 'trophy bass' caught by folks on the more casual side of the scale (as opposed to those of us on on the serious end)....probably far more. So, to me, having a singular catch of a particular size tells me little about whether I would consider the person a skilled or serious angler. That said, I might be more inclined to make some judgements based on 'routine' or 'regular' catches of a certain size (location dependent). That is, if you pull 4 and 5 pounders monthly out of a lake where it generally takes 13# to win a local club tourney.....well, you might get mad props from me

Got yak about 6-7 years ago when a boat wasn't an option. Now I have both and wouldn't give up either
