Marina fishing
There's marinas here in Potomac tribs that I have never passed and not seen kayaks and jons parked underneath the docks, hauling in stringers of crappie. Marina fishing is ubiquitous here and if anyone tried to prevent it, there'd surely be confrontations.

Any interest in trapping?
Would have been my wife's plan, too. I think she dislikes moles more than snakes....and she really hates snakes

What is considered "finesse" fishing?

Wakeboats and seawalls are a bad combination. The rebound is worse than the initial waves if you are too close- MLB
I've heard and read a lot lately that explains how bad the owners are acting/negotiating. And clearly they aren't always considering best interests of fans or long-term viability of baseball. But SI just posted a pic of a cover from March of 85 with salaries of 36 players making over $1M. (Great list of ballplayers, btw). Top 36 player salaries today are over $21M. That ain't all inflation.- What is your go to “I’m 100% gonna catch” lure?
SKRT CutR....or skunk tryin' I'm sorta bullheaded like that- Need some help with tackle suggestions
Good luck. I don't know anything about Quebec walleye. I do know that Ontario walleye seemed to prefer jigs to cranks about 3 to 1. Casting cranks was fun...catching was even funner- Interesting Observation
Do largemouth go down 60 feet? Real question. I have not heard of people targeting them much, if any deeper than 30....but I really have no clue how deep they might visit- I wonder about posting pics in general.
I tend to txt a pic of a good fish to my wife most times out.....I like to share my good fortune with her.....and it doesn't hurt to reinforce the fact that I really AM out on the lake by myself .....and not.....well, somewhere else ?- I wonder about posting pics in general.
Of course it is to show off. I don't post pics anywhere when I find deal on ground beef.....or when I get my oil changed. I don't photograph every fish...unless it is a catch/photo/release tournament, but there's far more pics of fish on my phone than pics of my wife. BUT....they're mostly pics of different fish....if I had pics of lots of different women on my phone, I suspect I wouldn't have to worry long about how many wife pics I have- Death, it's going to happen
I apologize for my insensitivity. Didn't read between the lines to your personal angle. Sorry for your family troubles. I still question though.....who should pay, if not the care recipient?- Death, it's going to happen
Not particularly. I don't plan on taking any of it with me If I go to a nursing home and successfully hide my assets....who SHOULD pay for my care? The state? That means you. Is that better than what you describe?- Cork vs foam/Eva vs Winn grips
I have full and split handle cork of wide range of quality, eva, wynn, carbon fiber, and neoprene. I don't have a strong preference for any, but like @A-Jay, I do like the Rage neoprene....but that is probably in good part because i love the overall rod so much. If the rod is right, i dont much care what the handle is made of.- MLB
You know, I was almost, sort of, kind of showing a little bit of interest in baseball........for the first time since 94. My memory sux.....but MLBs is worse. I was a huge fan for decades and quit in 94. Never really went back, though recent years Brewers' successes started to pique my interest.....actually watched a couple games .... nope...I'm not going back- What Line Do You Use With Senko's?
OP answered his own question six years ago. 'Yes.' Try all of them- Bass fanning out beds
Correct. @Paul Robertshas a great video on bass spawn.- Death, it's going to happen
As far as I'm concerned, my wishes for funeral and remains means very little. I'm fine with whatever my wife wants to do. (I strongly believe she will outlive me.) As to spreading ashes in a lake, let your loved ones know to pick an extremely calm day. Trust me on this one. Also, if you pick a spot with clear-ish water and a rocky bottom, it is pretty cool because they can see you for a long time if/when they come to visit.....cremains are a lot more sandy than than you'd think.- Latest Catch Pics Thread
Spent a couple hours trying to coax a deep bite with no takers. Ducked into a cove to take a break from the icy wind and it was lights out. Surface temps only 48, but don't tell the bass that. Caught all in less than 7 FOW. What was really crazy was a dozen smaller bass in a vast, cold muddy bay, all in less than 3 foot of water. I wouldn't even have gone in there if I hadn't noticed some surface activity. They apparently herded a ton of bait back there.- Inflatable PFDs, pocket-loss replacements?
I hear you....I use zippered cargo type pockets in fishing pants for wallet and readers.- Inflatable PFDs, pocket-loss replacements?
It is a good question. A real problem for me, too. I have a lanyard around my neck with whistle, boomerang snips, hook file. I have another lanyard also around my neck, with my phone. I really like Rogue for phone. I keep lighter, cigar cutter, keys, wallet in pants pockets. The cigars go under my seat. Pliers, jaw spreaders, other stuff just goes on the deck in front of seat, or in little pocket I riveted on.- PFD shopping.
I make the PFD quest pretty complicated, too... every few years. Couple of reaction points- -I like bright yellow and orange PFDs...I'd probably avoid black, all other things being equal. Added visibility in the yak is a plus. Added visibility if you go in the drink and need to be searched for is massive -I have an inflatable...BUT, I insisted on auto. I figure if I go in, there's a reasonable chance it is an event where I become unconscious or otherwise unable to operate manually.- Rate the song above you
Oh my gosh...posted this yesterday...and just now learned that Mark Lanegan died yesterday....RIP- Rate the song above you
^3. Sorry.. I appreciate it without particularly liking it. Every time I hear this, I get a little perturbed at Godsmack, but it doesn't last....I can't help but feel good listening to this- Am I limiting myself by using a M for dropshotting?
This doesn't get said often enough. My drop shot rod was bought as a ned rig rod. My chatterbait rod was bought to be my t-rig rod. My spinnerbait rod was supposed to be the last jig rod I would ever 'need' to buy. My current senko rod was purchased as a shakey head rod....my skipping senko rod was my wife's....shhh...she still thinks it is....my deep carolina rod was going to pitch....- Basketball now
I finally read the background on that incident....funny you mention it, because late press in certain loss was contributing factor there....SI has good opinion piece that mentioned how sportsmanship has to start at youth league level https://www.si.com/college/2022/02/21/michigan-wisconsin-juwan-howard-greg-gard-handshake-line - Kayak and Cargo Ship
