  1. What? Where is the hypocrisy? I guess I have not talked to the same people you are talking to, because I don't think I am hearing the same kinds of things. I suppose though, if I did, I would shrug and say that anyone ought to fish the way they enjoy fishing. The only thing I kind of extrapolate from my experience is perhaps a-rig, or big swimbaits, or even carolina rig and drop shot....because each of those requires different equipment and or rigging that complicates things. A carolina rig, in particular, really is a whole different game, at least here where you see 1 oz weights ahead of 2-3 ft leaders.
  2. Fantasista Regista 7' Med Really Fast, Smoke S3, 20# braid, 10# YZH leader
  3. I have two Smokes (25's) and love them. I like them better than my Presidents, but I don't have a Supreme. My Pfluegers that are more than 3 years old were better than any other manufacturer at handling heavy rain. But my last Pluger experiences a little binding in downpour....like most every other spinning reel I have. (Non-Symetre Shimano excepted)
  4. I got mine from behind a Dunkin Donuts 6 or 7 years ago. Not once have I ever considered how it looks.
  5. My wife is still arranging rearranging newish house...not sure where the others are...lol...maybe not unpacked yet
  6. Curio cabinet, souvenir spoon racks, and a glass top curio display table
  7. This is a huge point that cannot be overlooked. It is perfectly ok to me if the division of (chores) labor is somewhat dependent on hours of employment of each....and by whether there are young children in the home.
  8. My wife: You need to do more chores around the house. Me: Can we change the subject? My wife: Ok. More chores around the house need to be done by you.
  9. Does it stretch less than mono?
  10. I like the prose. But everything after 'Spinning' is a hot mess...at least on my phone. I would probably put the spinning reels on spinning rods. I have been a huge fan of that chart. I've copied and linked it many times. I wish Mr. Schwarzkopf would drop by so that I could thank him.
  11. Cold here in VA and NC. But I just checked and it turns out it is January here.
  12. And, we had to cast uphill....both ways
  13. I know lots of guys wear dry suits. I never have. I break some skim ice most winters. Lots of layers. Long johns, jeans, bibs....insulated t, long-sleeved shirt, sweatshirt, jacket(s), NRS boots with foot warmers. Hand warmers in pockets. Never found gloves I liked. Knit cap, hood....sunglasses help a lot
  14. It really depends. If I'm dropshotting relatively open water...maybe light vegetation...I like 8lb fluoro. Heavier grass....maybe small brush...I like braid to 10# fluoro leader. I have dropshot pads with 40#braid or 17#fluoro. Brush piles typically get 12# fluro. You can dropshot laydowns with 8# fluoro....and it can be a lot of fun, but expect to lose some fish.
  15. I fished base GC ponds in Norfolk and VA Beach years ago. Never knew of that risk. Eagle Haven used to have good fishing....probably still does
  16. I was hoping against hope for Green Bay all last week, but never came close to being confident. Even though they compiled a great record, there very few moments this year when I felt real good about them...almost like they were getting away with something and covering up some big flaws. Everyone knew the special teams was poor, but I don't think many thought that would actually sink them in a meaningful game. Depressing loss, but not really surprising.
  17. I think it's because if we can settle anything fishing related with data, or science ...we wouldn't get any more threads like the recent fluoro/mono fight
  18. Forgive me if I don't run right over to MGM with your picks in hand. ...lol. ?
  19. I'm unfamiliar with that pairing....but while searching for info about it, I did happen to find Drew Hinton calling Scott Martin a cry-baby...lol
  20. 3 boats; 2 pros on each: Ike & KVD Ish Monroe & Keith Poche Dean Rojas & Alton Jones I'd pay to watch...lol
  21. I completely agree with what @A-Jayis saying. I've always had trouble with this term. Of all my 'search' senses and tools, bait isn't really on the list. Like @J Francho, every cast, every lure, is 'searching' for a bite. Obviously, some lures cover water faster than others, but I depend on my maps, eyes, ears, graphs, etc. to do the searching.
  22. I don't do it automatically, but I promise that when I do, the hooks on the bait are better. I think I can tell pretty well when the trebles on a new bait are not as good as I'd like. I have never done it because there's a utuber somewhere talking about it....never even seen such a thing
  23. I can't discern any performance difference between Invisx and Abrasx. I use whichever is cheaper....usually Invisx. Lol...same
  24. I know nothing about plecos, but I'd bet yes. They certainly feast on blues, channels and mad toms. Might try lures designed to look like gobys. Venom and Stanley come to mind.
